He could feel those spaces inside of him that had felt completely empty since the last time he had drank from her filling. They felt nice. Whole. He no longer felt as though he were completely drained on the inside - Sam felt good. He was back on top of the world and Ruby was right there with him. Sucking at the gash on her arm, Sam desperately twisted his way in closer. He needed to be close. Because while the blood was wonderful in itself, the warmth that he got from Ruby while drinking it down only made the effects of it all the more sweeter. He liked the feeling of comfort he got, knowing that she was right there watching over him.
It seemed as though he was never going to stop. Sam didn't want to stop, which was strange since he usually knew where his limitations were. Now it was like he could have kept on drinking her blood for days and he still wouldn't feel satisfied. That was different. His appetite had grown quite a bit since he'd started drinking and Sam didn't know if that was ever going to stop. However, because he knew that Ruby needed a certain amount of blood to keep her body functioning properly, he slowly pried himself away from her arm. It took a lot more effort than he actually expected in order for himself to do so, which was a complete and total shock to him. He was supposed to be eager to keep himself from harming Ruby. Instead, he was hesitant. Afraid. Was that really all the blood there was?
Leaning back and, without really thinking about it, right against her, Sam closed his eyes and breathed in slowly. He wasn't worried about the blood on his face. His mind was focused on the fact that he needed to get a grip. Didn't need more. That had been enough. It was just that he hadn't drank in so long...
"Thank you," Sam said, keeping his thoughts to himself. Ruby didn't need to know.
