She couldn't really avoid it. Might as well have someone who knew. "My mother was pushed into archery by her mother. She won a bronze at the Olympics, but it wasn't enough for Grandma Millie. So mom left and moved to Star City. Some things happened, and she got married. And I was born, and then when I was five dad died," she shook her head as if she was tellin a story that was someone else's and not her own. "So she took the settlement money and put me through Camp Bonnie - what I like to call it. You name it? I did it. Tons and tons of archery training." She sighed, stirring the ice in her glass. "Eventually I got taken away from her by Child Welfare after someone stepped in."
"Truth is that in some ways? I've only in the last two years really gotten my life back to my own... sort of," She glanced at him holding up a hand. "But it really IS my thing, so in the end its good... or okay. No parents are perfect. Some are just a lot more 'excentric' than others?" she took a sip of the water, waiting for the sandwhiches to get ready. "I guess that its really more about where you end than how it all starts..." she looked him in the eye, "And more about what you do with it."
"So what about you?" she tilted her head with a small smile on her lips. "Are you a normal or a secret origin waiting to happen?"
