Who: Katherine Danvers, NPC killer What: Hunting When: An hour or so after she left Pike and Faith Where: A run down apartment building Rating: PG-13 Status: Complete
When she got back to the body, either no one had found it or the police weren't in. The first thing she did was sniff around, making sure she had a distinct sent of the girl, and the unknown third party. Then she stepped away from the ally, followed the scent casually until she came to a pay phone. A minute later, the police and ambulance were on the way. She could actually hear alarms in the distance, they had to have been close. Hanging up the phone, the werewolf continued on her way, following the trail of the scent. It wasn't that old, the person was moving slow. The male, she knew it was a male. Not walking in a straight line, taking cover.
Eventually she had ended up standing outside of an apartment building. The question was, what did she do now? Did she bust in and get him to confess? Or make him confess to the police? Did she simply call the police now, or leave it up Pike?
After a while of mulling it over, Kate slowly went into the building. Her senses were alert as she follow the trail up a flight of stairs. Two kids ran around the corner, almost knocking in to her. Laughing, playing again, the girl was chasing the boy. She couldn't help but smile at that. It reminded her of her brother. How badly she missed home.
Continuing up the stairs, she came to the second floor. The whole building stank of drugs, sweat and dirt. It wasn't some place she could ever stay. Soon enough, she was standing outside of what she knew to be the man in questions apartment. His stench was everywhere.
She could hear someone moving inside. When she pulled her sleeve over her hand and tried the door, it was locked. But barley. A thin chain was all that kept it in place. Raising in hand, the blonde knocked on the door. There was silence at first, but then he was moving. A sound from inside told her he had a gun. Stepping out of the way, she pressed herself against the wall. If he fired that gun, the police would be here soon and he would have done all the work for her.
The door opened, and based on the shadows of the door, the gun was raised. Pushing her luck, Kates arm flew out, grabbing for the guys arm, and twisted, causing him to drop the gun. Her other hand flew up to slam over is mouth so he couldn't scream, two fingers covering his eyes. Kicking the gun aside into the apartment, Kate forced the man into the room, closing the door with her feet.
"It's not fun, is it?" she said slowly. "Having someone stronger than you keep you from moving. Having someone you can't beat over power you." she felt him tense in fear. Yeah, he knew. "I don't like it when sick pigs like you think they can just walk away from something like this." she said darkly. "Have your way with a girl, and then no one would care? Cocky little shit." She could kill him, every bone in her body was telling her to kill him. But no, not yet. Suddenly, she moved them back, and she slammed the mans head against the wall. Not strong enough to kill him, but he dropped to the floor and was out.
Looking down in disgust at the man, she then began to search the apartment. She found the knife in the sink, washed clean, but Kate was going to bet the police could find some bloody traces, and if not that, then the blade would match the one on the throat. He was certainly covered in enough of the girls blood. As for Faith's, well she didn't exist, so not really a problem.
Looking around, Kate grabbed a dirty drying cloth from off the counter and went to the phone. Picking with one end she picked it up, with the other end of the clocked she punched in 911, and then let it ring. When she heard the voice on the other end, she waited a minute and then hung up.
Taking the cloth with her, she left the apartment.
In an ally on the other side of the street, she was letting the dirty wash cloth burn at her feet. Soon enough a police car pulled up to the apartments. Two officers went inside. Ten minutes later, she heard sirens.
