"Born and bred." She had seen some of the versions of Metropolis that made it seem like some kind of Pleasantville but on Saks or something. Her version wasn't like that. It wasn't something out of some Dystopian novel, the way she'd seen them portray other "D.C." cities. It was a beautiful city. However, it was also a highly corrupt one. With higher than your average crime rate. Especially in the slums. However, it was home to her. It was her city.
She narrowed her eyes at him slightly, at first in suspcion but then the movement softened because of surprise. Because she was surprised that he hadn't started mocking or hadn't made a crude comment. Although her body hadn't changed position, leaning the furniture and hands holding onto the edge, a brief hint of appreciation flashed across her features. Before her lips curved slightly in a humorless smile; though she had to admit that she was a bit amused.
