Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:allan a dale, marian fitzwalter, robin hood

Who: Allan, Marian, and eventually Robin
What: Getting Allan to the Apartments and explaining what's happened to him
When: The night Allan arrived
Where: City Hall, then the Apartments
Rating: TBA? Not too bad though

He had a plan. He wasn't going to let Gisborne know about the relationship he knew existed between Robin and Marian, but he couldn't go back empty handed to him either, that wouldn't help himself. He was on his way to get the ring from the Mother at the convent, so he could tell him that she had gone the convent instead of telling him that she was in the forest with the gang. Then he was in the middle of a street with something large and strange coming toward him. He managed to get up onto a slightly raised platform before he was struck, but he didn't know where he was or what anything was around him.

"Bloody Hell" He sat down on some steps he found near him, looking at something he saw out of the corner of his eye. He went to it and figured it out a little easier than he should have, finding out that Robin and Marian were in this place too. He wondered where it was. If he had been knocked out in a fight and woken up there. They told him that Marian would be there to collect him soon, and that Robin was going to cook supper, so he sat there, in his black, buckled vest he had been wearing as Gisborne's man, waiting for her to show up.

Marian grabbed the keys to the apartment she shared with Robin an shoved them in her poket, pulling a cardigan over her simple t-shirt and jeans. She didn't expect to be too long, even though part of her thought she should probably help him with clothing. He could borrow something of Robin's for tonight. Giving Robin a quick kiss and instructions not to burn the kitchen down she headed for the City Hall.

It didn't take her long to get there, after all she quite liked to walk and when she enjoyed something it didn't take too long. Well, that wasn't true with everything but it applied to most. Soon, she reached the City hall and stopped at the bottom of the steps when she saw him.

"Didn't think I could get away from you for too long."

He didn't look up until he heard the familiar voice. Everything was so different in this place, and he didn't know what was going on. He was glad to have people in this place that knew him to help him through the terrible change. He had been incredibly surprised that Robin was speaking to him, and that Marian was being pleasant to him. She had already thrown a dagger at him after she had saved Robin from killing him. That had been so recent to him, though. He didn't know what to think.

He saw her face, and knew it was her, but she was dressed so strangly. Everyone in this place was, but he smiled at her words, knowing she would have said something like that.

"What can I say? You have to stay where your enemies are." Jokingly to her, even though just before he arrived here, they had been his enemies, even if he didn't have anything against them.

She quirked an eyebrow at that before laughing a little, waiting for him to stand. It was getting late and she really didn't want to be out here when it was late, she never had been in the past and she had no idea what they would be up against. Especially after all those things she had read about demons and such like.

"Enemies would not take you somewhere you could sleep."

They could arrange accomodation for him before going to Robin. Unless Marian smelt smoke when they arrived. Or the building had been evacuated.

"Remember, don't burn down the kitchen."

If he had not set Sherwood or the outlaws' camp on fire before now whilst cooking over an open flame, he surely could manage using a stove and oven.

He hoped.

His options for what to prepare had been limited by what they had on hand, since he did not have time for a trip to the store before starting supper. Having just been shopping the other day, they had some selection, but most of what they bought had just been for the two of them.

Any selection at all was a huge novelty to someone who had been hunting, stealing, or having gifted to him every meal that he had eaten for the last three years, so the few things they did have still seemed like a banquet. Allan would be astounded.

The chicken seemed like a good bet for a remarkable, yet not overly complicated, dish. And how brilliant was not having to pluck it? The gizzards being separated in a bag, and from what he was seeing in this cookbook, relatively unused, seemed a waste; he would set those aside and take a better look later.

Browsing the recipes, he finally decided on one that sounded delicious and seemed straightforward enough.

With that decided, he rolled up his sleeves and got to work.

((OOC: This is what Robin's preparing, although probably in a slightly simplified version-- just plain old salt instead of sea salt, et cetera.))
