That little kiss got his heart speeding up again at the same time as it caused a fresh wave of contentment to wash over him. He could get used to this; and, it occurred to him, he would. He was still very concerned with everyone he had left behind, but without any way of rectifying that situation, he could not help but push it to the back of his mind. There were apparently demons to fight here, but he had seen no sign of them yet. That left only this for him to focus on, which meant that he was simply happy.
He could not recall the last time he had just been happy. Perhaps, he never had been.
With a chuckle, he said, "That's fine. Chances are that we will not know enough people by then to call for anything grand." The memory of the wedding they'd had in his time drifted back to him, and he knew that anything would be an improvement. He was glad that they had been able to at least have that, but he was looking forward to a proper ceremony, something that was purely celebratory. He did wish that their friends could be there, but he would take any chance to be with her.
