Danny was drawn from his thoughts as he noticed the little wave from a couple tables over. The blonde that was waving him over seemed familiar, but he couldn't quite place why. Maybe he'd seen her on the boards or something? Or maybe he'd just bumped into her somewhere before.
He was praying fervently it wasn't because she'd been in one of the crowds at the club.
Still, Andrea and Buffy had both told him to be social, and he was trying. It wasn't necessarily easy, what with his fear of getting people hurt just by being around them, but he was trying. He debated with himself for a long moment before coming to a decision. He turned, searching the area outside the diner for any sign of anyone that might have been following him. He stood there for a good minute before nodding to himself and heading over to the table. He tried for a smile, doing his best to brush his troubled thoughts to the back of his mind and only partially succeeding. "Hi." He paused, probably looking a little dumb. It had been awhile since he'd just randomly met someone, and with so much else on his mind the typical protocol here had slipped it. "Uh, I'm Danny." His eyes flickered down to the empty seat across from the girl, his eyebrows lifting in question.
The Spirit, who still didn't identify as Noble Kale despite knowing that was its name, continued to whisper in his head. Danny continued to ignore it. This had been their agreement, that Danny would willingly go out on patrols and willingly let the Spirit out to fight evil, but in return he got time to himself each night without the constant urging. Apparently, the Spirit didn't plan on holding to his end of that bargain.
