Things had been pretty crazy around the apartments lately, though Sookie was slowly starting to adjust. It helped that Jacen was helping her with the meditation thing, learning how to block thoughts. She hadn't mastered it yet, so she still sometimes inadvertantly picked things up she really would rather she didn't.
Which was why she'd finally dragged herself out of the building to seek out employment. She didn't like Jason having to support her, so she decided to try and find out what might be needed to get a job as a waitress, when-as so many had been saying lately-she didn't exist in this world.
At the moment, she sat in a small diner going over the application that one of the waitresses there had been nice enough to bring her. She'd only had a couple dollars on her, but had used them to get a small cup of coffee and tip the woman whom she hoped would soon be a co-worker. It was always good to try and get on the good side of people like that.
As she studied the questions on the application, she caught a weird sound. She blinked, then glanced around. Of course, no one had said anything, but the voice she heard was a strange whisper-not at all like the thoughts she normally heard, which were their own bundle of whispers in the back of her mind.
As she glanced around, her eyes settled on a young man that looked an awfully lot like Sam, when she remembered who he was. Danny, the guy who was from another dimension, like her, whom she'd seen on the boards a few times. She could distinctly catch his own presence, but the second whisper, strangely enough, came from him, too.
Since he hadn't sat yet, she raised her hand a little to catch his attention, and smiled welcomingly, gesturing for him to come over-if he wanted to.
