Looking to replace a really interesting historical line I lost.
GUY is a spoiled prince (or rich man, noble, etc.) who lost his eyesight when he was around 10 years old. Now an adult, he spends most of his time locked away inside the castle/house/mansion/etc., terrorizing the servants with violent mood swings. His mother frequently hires people to read for him. Rosalind is shunned by society for her appearance but she has a lovely reading voice. She's passionate about books and the mother hires her. GUY does what he can to chase her away, but she's relentless and eventually he warms up to her. As he can't see and therefore can't judge her for her looks--which she lies about and finds ways to hide from him--she opens up as well and they fall in love. But will that love survive when a physician seems to have found a way to cure GUY's blindness and return his sight to him? What happens when he can finally see who Rosalind really is?
We had a supernatural twist to this but I'd be willing to give that part up as long as I can get the line. I'd be using Mia Wasikowska but I'm open on GUY's PB.
