Would anyone be interested in a Star Trek game or group PSL?
My idea is not based off of the movie. I would actually like to take the plot from Star Trek: Voyager and put it into an RP game format, whether that be a group PSL or larger. For those of you that are not familiar with ST:V, the series took place approximately a century after Star Trek: The Original Series and the movie that was just recently released. That means the technology is more high-tech.
The reason why I am leaning toward ST:V as opposed to Star Trek: The Next Generation (the more popular series that also took place during the 24th Century and therefore had very similar technology) is because of the plot. The plot of ST:V is what I really want to expand on. You have a star ship that is hurled millions of light years from home that, by their calculations, will likely take them more than 70 years to get back to Earth. They are alone in uncharted territory where they are constantly met with friendly, hostile, and just bizarre life.
Pretty much, it's LOST... in space.
My essential idea is that we would completely replace every single character in the series with an original character. There would be no canon characters in play, and they would not be allowed to be played. But the general makeup of the crew (including a necessary alliance between an enemy Maquis ship that was also thrown millions of light years away from home) would remain the same, and a lot of the big events in the show would as well. Because I would be the moderator, and I am also a big fan of the series, only I would really have to know about what those big events were.
No real knowledge of the show would be necessary. That's what the Star Trek Wiki is for, and once it's explained in lamens terms, a lot of the stuff really isn't that hard to understand.
Basic idea: A Star Trek game based on the series Star Trek: Voyager that pretty much had the same premise of LOST except in space. No knowledge of the show would be necessary, and a wiki along with lamens terms explanation of things would be provided as needed.
Right now, I'm just seeing if anyone would actually bite at this idea. So, anybody find this interesting or something that would warrant a look?
