With the advent of synthetic blood and the Great Revelation, the world was introduced to vampires "coming out of their coffins" in droves. Some accepted them, others reviled them, and then there are those who became irrevocably drawn to the world of vampires, blood-drinkers and immortals.
In Chicago, the vampire-hating Fellowship of the Sun has just set up a new mega-church, supported by a misguided and naive mayoral candidate. The vampire sheriffs are none too pleased with this development, and people on both sides are worried that a war is imminent in a city known for its denizens who make up their own rules. Considering Chicago's dark history of political and personal corruption, this latest chapter in the city's saga could very well change the landscape of the Midwest for years to come.

How vampires interact amongst themselves will play as big a role in shaping the supernatural landscape of the city as the undead interacting with other supernatural beings and humans as a whole. The presence of vampires, now common knowledge, could prove advantageous on several fronts, including -- but not limited to -- the city's political battlefields.
