The buildings fell into disrepair. The few survivors battled it out among themselves until even fewer remained. And eventually, the city grew silent, with only the eternal crashing of the waves on the beach and the cries of the seagulls to speak for what once was.

On the grounds of what used to be known as the St. John's Town Center, a fort constructed by those now lost stands empty. Or...it had been empty, before the Singularity.No one knows what has caused the Singularity, either, but it seems that the intensity of loss and death has altered the dimensional balance. People from worlds once thought to be fictional have started arriving at the walled fortress.

There is a good deal of room - nothing in Jacksonville is crowded anymore. But roars and terrifying sounds that pierce the silence of the night speak of a world that may not be safe.

The stores at The Town Center have been looted by those who lived here before, but a thorough search may not come up empty handed. The Intercoastal waterway is only a few miles away, but outside the safety of the walls. And, of course, the Atlantic Ocean remains just a few miles beyond that.
