w e d a n c e w i t h m o n s t e r s.  "Old Cobwebs" is a storyline based on the fictional town named Silent Hill. The storyline is semi-private, meaning we'll close membership once we have a small, close-knitted group of players involved. The purpose of the game is to be plot-driven, nothing more. We aren't looking for players who follow trends, cockhop, or stick to their own cliques. However, we're completely welcoming of those who aren't afraid to think outside of the box, and truly have a passion for horror. | ||

Rather than focusing on the "shock and awe" of outing supernatural creatures, our aim is a character-driven storyline focusing on the political and social issues arising from the integration of supes into normal society: think True Blood or X-Men. The NOLA natives have known longer and better than most the existence of the supernatural; the local palm-reader is a little less-than-right, and those bartenders aren't just goth for the eye-liner. And while tourists flock to the city, human and otherwise, to get a little dose of where the supernatural is just plain normal-- well, things have a tendency to get a little ugly. |

 Rumors of a strange infection have been circulating around New York City for weeks now. However the students of St. Jude's and Constance Billard's have been kept almost entirely in the dark. True, there's the odd stranger coughing blood on the subway. Or the strangely pasty complexion and glassy eyes of the salesperson waiting on them at Bendel's. But between the stress of Gossip Girl blasts, SAT prep, and lacrosse matches, who can really keep track? Their blissful weeks of ignorance are about to end. For the few unlucky students caught after hours by a hoard of the living dead ransacking the prestigious hallways of their school, social survival has been replaced by actual survival. These pampered and spoiled Upper East Side teenagers will have to rely on each other and whatever skills they have if they want to make it out alive. From the school's Queen Bee all the way down to the scholarship kids, everyone has a common enemy for the first time ever. And zombies don't care how blue your family's blood is or how healthy your trust fund. | Twenty-five years after the fateful Tournament, the political atmosphere in Britain and Europe had changed drastically. The threat of the Dark wizard known as Lord Voldemort had disappeared, and in the years following the triumph, governments arose that were much more focused on cooperation and tolerance among wizards and witches at home and internationally. In 2019, a contingent of people led by Second Wizarding War hero Harry Potter and Bulgarian Quidditch superstar Viktor Krum formed, eager to encourage the next generation to focus on others' similarities rather than their differences. Both leaders spoke eloquently of the lasting friendships they had made and the valuable lessons they had learned during the 1994 Triwizard Tournament. They advocated a replacement event for the student population. With the assistance of the International Association of Quidditch, three years later, the inaugural Junior International Quidditch Tournament is set to begin. Four Quidditch teams representing their schools will compete against each other in a series of matches throughout the academic year, with two finals at the end of the year to determine the overall winner. And alongside all the Quidditch fever that is sure to grip the castle, the typical difficulties of an academic year at Hogwarts must still be traversed: exams, friendships, romance, and antics.  It had started nearly a decade ago. At first no one thought much of the random disappearances and deaths, all seemingly unconnected to one another. Young, old, female, male, single people, group murders. There was nothing connecting them one another. Until Professor Dumbledore realised what was happening. From there it didn't take people long to realise that there was something more to these deaths than what originally appeared. Someone then another started to notice that they were Muggles, Muggleborns, people who supported equality. As each day more and more deaths and disappearances were occurring until they could no longer be ignored. The year is now 1980, the attacks have been occurring for a decade and show no sign of stopping. Everyone is scared, no one trusts anyone, especially those involed the most in the war. Welcome to The Darkest Years, the first war is raging between the Death Eaters and the Order of the Phoenix while others are just trying to live their lives, stay safe and pretend that nothing is happening. The Darkest Years is a canon compliant, Marauder Era game set in 1980 that focuses not only on the war but the lives of the other people, those not directly involved with it. In Southern California, there recently opened a new luxury apartment building. Impeccably designed, impossibly convenient, ideally located, Pax Letale is the sort of residential Shangri La where Southern Californians spend all manner of favors and years trying to secure a spot. But Pax doesn't have a waiting list, nor can a place there be bought or sold. The people who find their way to Pax Letale belong there. Every tenant of Pax is a reincarnated deity, some of whose worshipers are by and large long dead. Once very real, these gods began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. Reborn as mortals, their essences remain, waiting to be awakened. Somehow, sometimes one by one, sometimes in groups or pairs, these creatures of destiny have discovered Pax, and have not been able to resist its pull. For at Pax Letale, the awakening has begun. As these gods rediscover themselves and each other, the seemingly invisible but ubiquitous management tracks each of them quite closely, and the very building itself seems to have an agenda of its own. And as the gods made humans in their own image - or humans made them in theirs - so will the the behavior of the people of Pax turn as dark as their myths. Blood, strife, sex, petty plots, torture - even murder will wind their ways into Pax Letale. A lovely place. A peculiar place. A dangerous place. Enki is the Babylonian god of water, crafts, intelligence and creation. Twin of and best friend of Ereshkigal, goddess of the Underworld, he is often seen as a positive foil to his brother Enlil, utilizing his magic and cunning for the good of others; he brings aid to deities and humans alike, serving as a rare masculine nuturer in a chaotic and often oppressively patriarchal pantheon. He will likely have connections to Tiamat, Ereshkigal, and other Sumero-Babylonian deities. Zeus is the king of the Greek gods, and the god of sky and weather, law, order and fate. He was depicted as a regal man, mature with sturdy figure and dark beard. His mortal self might be connected in some way to Hera, his sister-queen, as well as to his other siblings and his children - who are many (Ares, Apollo, Artemis, Athene, Hermes, and Dionysos, to name just a fraction of their number). Masauwu is a Hopi deity sometimes called the Skeleton Man, Keeper of Fire, Spirit of Death, and the Master of the Fourth (present) World. He is depicted as a dark-skinned man wearing a mask; sometimes the creature beneath this mask is described as handsome, sometimes as a disfigured monster. Don't see a tenant that interests you? Other deities and pantheons are welcome - pick one of the active pantheons in the game, or talk to a mod if there's one you don't see, and make your modern god as you see him/her/it. |
