For most of the magical world, life after the end of the Second War was been relatively peaceful. But even the most optimistic witch or wizard knows that no peace can last forever. As another school year comes to a close at Hogwarts, chatter has already begun about what the fall will bring. A Triwizard Tournament will bring new visitors to the school's hallowed halls, as students from Durmstrang, Beauxbatons, and the Salem Witches' Institute of Magic come to compete against Hogwarts finest. But there are whispers that not all is what it seems: that something or someone is planning to use the Tournament for a darker purpose. Dark tides are beginning to pull beneath the surface of the adult world. A new terrorist group has begun launching attacks on the Ministry of Magic, intent on fighting for the rights of magical kind. As panic begins to grow, the Aurors are left scrambling, forced to choose between protecting their families or upholding the duties of their badge. And elsewhere, there are hints of even darker shadows. There has never been a better time to whisper the old saying, Let there be no evil here. Dresden Academy

Dresden Academy is a new model of magical education for young wizards and witches, hidden away from curious eyes in the beautiful Adirondacks of Upstate New York. Run by the Hulett family for as long as they've owned the town proper; the school is set to educate a new generation of talent. There is an undercurrent of political shift at Dresden. Jillian and Irene Hulett have been quietly tussling for control of the school. Jillian, the current headmistress is entirely unaware of the machinations which her sister may launch to wrest her position from her. Add to this that the New York Association of Wizards has decided to cut Dresden Academy's funding for the 2011-2012 school year. At present our headmistress, Jillian is struggling to figure out what to cut in order to save money. She'll be trying to trick staff into retiring, debate cutting some elective classes, and consider minimizing the sports program (quodpot, she's looking at you). Dresden Academy is a high school/university game for Original Characters set in the Harry Potter Universe. We're looking for players who like organic plots and can think outside of the sandbox. X-PROJECT: AN X-MEN MOVIEVERSE RPG

X-Project is an X-Men movieverse RPG on Livejournal. Set after X2, we've been running since May 2003 and use a combination of in-character journals and email/IM logs. There's a number of settings for a range of play, whatever your preference, and while we accept new characters we strongly encourage people to adopt one of our orphans.

We just started a new (totally optional!) storyline for the month, so this is a great time to sign up and get in on the action!



Seattle; Drop by Drop is an urban fantasy/supernatural site, set in modern day Seattle. We've got a wide variety of playable races, from witches and necromancers to vampires and lycans, and several completely unique races like the Viri, who are winged humans, the Idimmu, refugees from other dimensions with colorful skin, wings, horns, and more, Shapeshifters, who come in several varieties; animals, reptiles, plants, and even a class who can shift their gender. And we just unveiled our newest race, the Deasura, who you might know by the name 'mermaids', but I can assure you, these are far from the cuddly disney versions you know.

We're a friendly and welcoming site, active but laid back. We've got a lot of great things for members, from a 'Searching For' section to a Player Adoptions section, writing challenges, diaries, and more.
Our plot is basically member driven and open, but we also have monthly, site wide storylines that anyone can get in on.
There's no word count; we have a variety of players who post anywhere from 120-1500 words on average.
And our apps are short! Just basic info like height, age and weight, with a focus on the history.

We believe in letting people have choices, whether it's using a celeb/musician/stock model or a custom made 3d model for their playby, or writing in 1st or 3rd person. We have the Sub Accounts mod, so we let players choose whether to use an accounts-per-player style or an accounts-per-character style linked to a main OOC account.

We're self hosted, but don't let that intimidate you; it's a very user friendly board software, and because it's self hosted, you won't have to worry about downtime or shutdowns. We use BBcode and html,and we are very newbie friendly, and we'll walk you through anything you need help with! We're also very laid back, encouraging members to register and hang around getting to know people rather than demanding applications be posted the minute you join.

realitycrash via reality_mod! We have the Eleventh Doctor, the Master, River Song and of course, Amy Pond. So it would be great to see the remaining incarnations of the Doctor (or the Master, if you're feeling up to it), Rory Williams, Jack Harkness, Donna Noble, Martha Jones, Rose Tyler and other Whoinverse characters not previously mentioned (Gwen, Tosh, Owen, Ianto) would be loved and adored!

Vampires around here don't sparkle. A hundred years ago, supernaturals 'didn't exist'. They were figments of your imagination, things that went bump in the night and tall tales that you told your children. Not anymore. Supernaturals were in hiding, laying dormant and blending into the background in order to protect themselves, but during WWII, the need for their abilities became so great that hiding was no longer an option. The government had long been aware of the existence of supernaturals, and when Hitler was killed or died and the accounts of the death were so unusual they couldn't be explained, people started asking questions. Keeping supernaturals under wraps became impossible and so the different races of supernaturals exploded across the lands. Just like any other minority, supernaturals weren't welcomed with open arms. Many were persecuted and some even killed for being 'different'. There was segregation and hate crimes and many churches labeled being supernatural an abomination before God. Supernaturals had to register with the government and were prosecuted if they were found without their registration cards. Many supernaturals went back into hiding. During the sixties, however, in the height of civil rights and love, peace and harmony, being supernatural didn't seem so bad in the grand scheme of things. There were vast civil rights movements and eventually laws were passed protecting supernaturals the same as other minority groups. Still, not everyone accepted people who were 'different'. Many supernaturals migrated to areas where they were more widely accepted. Some may have moved right next door to you. In Toronto, Ontario, Canada, moving into an apartment with a new roommate might mean that you're sharing a living space with a werewolf. Or maybe your son's new kindergarten teacher is an elemental. Or that girl you have a crush on in Algebra just might already know because she's a telepath. Things are still a struggle when it comes to acceptance and not everyone is happy about the path that the world is taking towards equality. Where do you stand? Which side will you take? Forsilvra was a land born of blood, won through the lust of power and the sheer force of steel and might. It is then only fitting that at the end of it all, it is for all of those reasons that it must also break. The balance of power has shifted. Once in the hands of the Sterlyn king, the crown now hangs in the balance. There are those who claim, by right of blood, that they are the ones who deserve to rule, and they will stop at nothing to win the fealty of the lords… or enforce their dominion over them. But to others, blood only matters when it is spilled, and they are willing to do just that to achieve their own ends. There is but one thing standing between a few men and absolute power: The unborn child of the late king.

They will sing songs of these battles, of this war. They will make heroes out of the victors and cowards out of those who could not prevail. Whose name will they sing with pride, whose tomb will they adorn with flowers and riches, whose noble house will be exalted for the deeds of the few who fight now? Will the crown remain as one, or will it be divided among many? Will Forsilvra be Forsilvra, or will it be something else entirely? In a land torn by Civil War, glory is yours for the taking, and any man may reach for it if they so desire. But when one takes a leap, they must remember to first look, for in this world, not even a king can escape the cold, cruel hand of Death.

The war has only just stopped raging. Though the fires have been put out, the smoke has not yet cleared. Amidst the chaos, new beginnings blossom. Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, is busy revolutionizing every aspect of society. Even Hogwarts' established-for-centuries curriculum has been overhauled. Starting September 4th, the first of Shacklebolt's new educational initiatives was introduced, to the delight of some, and the dismay of others. A mandatory eighth year of education has been implemented with the intention of better preparing the students for life after Hogwarts. A career counsellor has joined Hogwarts' staff and an Apprenticeship program has been put in place. Shacklebolt has spent the summer months encouraging parents and students alike to embrace these radical changes. But whether you embrace the changes or disapprove of them, you were expected to be at Platform 9¾ on the morning of September 4th, books bought, bags packed and ready to learn. Almost grown, but not quite.
