the gist
| Think of any long-gone deity from mythology. Imagine they once truly existed. Now imagine that they aren't truly gone but instead their essence lives on, is reincarnated inside of that guy who sits next to you on the bus every day. Or Maureen from Accounting. Or maybe even you. They could be anyone, young or old, male or female, any race, anyone. The old deities once existed, once walked the Earth, and mortals trembled at their names. Long ago, they each slowly faded out, their existence only remembered as fables and tales. During this decline, one deity gathered up and called upon his or her last reserves of power and influence to create a reprieve, of sorts, for them all. They would find their essence, their souls if you will, not dissipated amongst the matter of the Universe but instead reborn inside a mortal body. They would be mortal, yes, their power would be greatly diminished, yes, and they might not even remember what they once were, but they would at least exist. |

 Located at the southern tip of New York state, Westchester county is home to more than just some of the nation's wealthiest families. It is also the county with the highest record of superhuman activity in the United States. Some were born there, some were called, some wandered in and and decided to stay, but Westchester county has become a place of note in the recent years in the superhuman community. One such superhuman is notable resident Charles Xavier. Xavier is one of the few people in the nation who is public about his being a mutant, and is outspoken about the need for mutant rights in the United States. He has no institute, but Xavier's million dollar mansion in North Salem is home to a secret training facility for a select few young mutants known as the X-Factor. In addition to the mutants that he trains, Xavier has also adopted a couple of mutants who have no homes because of their mutations. High school is a tumultuous time for anyone, even when you're not developing super powers. At North Salem High School, supers and mutants intermingle with normal students. Some are terrified that people will discover their powers while others itch to show them off. Even with this diverse student body, no one has revealed themselves to be anything other than a normal human...yet. moralcode is an AU Marvel comics role-playing game set in Westchester County, New York which focuses on a group of young adults learning what it means to have superpowers. Will they use their new found abilities for good or evil? Should they keep their powers secret or reveal them to the public? If they make themselves known what will the reaction be?
