Asheville has been proclaimed to be a "New Age Mecca" as well as "the new freak capital of the US". Most people overlook these statements made by the media, because most of Asheville's residents live there because it was named one of the top seven places to live in the US, it's location in the mountains and surrounding areas is ideal, and life moves at a slower pace in the South. Little do people know that the first two statements are true, and Asheville has been rumored to sport some serious supernatural activity. For many years supernatural creatures of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds have been migrating to this city in the Blue Ridge Mountains. None of them can quite put their finger on why they are drawn there, but there is a pull that they just can't ignore. Perhaps it has something to do with the convergence of all these different supernaturals, or maybe something darker is brewing underneath the city of Asheville. | GAME MOD JOURNAL WATCHERS Premise Characters Rules Application Wanted Player-Modding Most Wanted *Hermione Granger *George Weasley *Penelope Clearwater *Blaise Zabini | To Be or Not to Be is a Deathly Hallows compliant Harry Potter RPG that picks up right where the books left off (pre-epilogue). During the summer months, characters can help with the rebuilding of Hogwarts and generally get their lives back together. Come September, 7th and "8th" year students will return to Hogwarts but be housed off-grounds in Hogsmeade for maximum interaction potential. Several NEWTs options are available for 8th years. We are 75% player modded, so we review applications, make plot decisions, brainstorm, and generally run the game as a group. If you are a player who enjoys really digging into a game and making it your own, this is the place for you! |

 CHARACTER LIST • PB LIST • APPLICATION • RULES • WANTED CHARACTERS Liberalis A Post-Warts, Non Deathly Hallows Compliant Game By the spring of 1999 the Trio had collected and destroyed all six of the Horcruxes and they set out to find the Dark Lord hoping to end it once and for all. At the climax of the duel, Harry gained the upper hand and Voldemort, knowing he had seconds left, used his last lifeline: a time turner. With the fall of their Lord, the Death Eaters abandoned the battle and it appeared to the wizarding world that their greatest enemy had been defeated. Unknown to them, the time turner had brought Voldemort into 2002 where he was already gathering his followers and one more Horcrux still remained. Voldemort had unknowingly created another when he had killed Harry's parents and attempted to kill Harry. The newly shattered part of his soul was transferred into the infant when the Dark Lord cast the killing curse. The New Year of 2003 would be marked with tragedy. The Dark Lord would announce his return at the Ministry’s Annual New Year’s Ball where innocents were attacked and dozens were slaughtered. In the aftermath of the battle, accusatory eyes turned to the once celebrated hero; Harry Potter. Overnight the news spread and people began to feel again the terror that had yet to fade completely. Over the next few months the Ministry worked around the clock to assure the people that this time wouldn’t be like the last; this time they should place their trust with the government and not in the hands of an adolescent hero. The Ministry’s demeanor became one of confidence. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named had struck out twice already and this time the situation would be handled properly. Voldemort had other plans. On May 23rd the Ministry of Magic fell. Trust and security was shattered when Voldemort and his army entered the Ministry building, having been given access from within. Death Eaters and dark creatures alike swarmed through the structure, destroying everything in their path; among the dead was found every member of the Wizengamot including the Minister of Magic himself. Once and for all the Dark Lord proved what he was capable of. With their Headquarters in ruins, the Ministry has been forced to relocate and is scrambling to come to terms with their losses and what it meant for the future. Wizarding Britain looks to the future with little hope while the Trio desperately search for the missing piece, knowing that if the Dark Lord had returned that their mission had not yet been completed. Another Horcrux must still be in existence and destroying it is the only way to ensure their liberation. Game Opens Friday, July 23rd |

In the Summer of 2024, a pack of werewolves started terrorising the country, turning young children and brutally killing their parents. A month later the dead started returning to life. Voldemort was among the first to arrive. By spring 2025, Voldemort and the werewolves had joined forces; Hogwarts, Azkaban and Diagon Alley had been attacked, but Ministry and Order were still standing strong, forcing Voldemort to live in hiding. On June 18, 2025, everything changed! Voldemort launched an attack on the wizarding world, hitting King's Cross, the Hogwarts Express and the Ministry. While the forces of good spread out to protect the population, Voldemort took over the Ministry – and with it the Wizarding society. The Order and their allies fled to Hogwarts, where Headmaster Severus Snape shielded the school, making it impossible for Voldemort to gain entrance. From there, the Order launched its resistance. For the rest of the population, it’s comply or be killed, but under the surface, people are trying to find a way to manoeuvre outside the new laws and restrictions. In the meantime an unknown, yet undetected, spell is spreading amongst the Wizarding population, Death Eaters, Order and neutral alike.  On June 4th, 1973, the first sighting of the Dark Mark was reported over the home of Quentin Parrish, the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and a Muggleborn. Two days later, Albus Dumbledore met with Minerva McGonagall and Alastor Moody. One thing was certain: You-Know-Who was gearing up and the Ministry under Hensmoke was no longer equipped to handle the crisis. Not alone. |
Peace has reigned in the city of Excelsior for sixteen years - the war between the superpowered forces of good and evil at an end, its soldiers living in quiet retirement. With their capes and spandex gathering dust in various closets, they've settled down, gotten normal jobs, and started families. It's more common to see a hero and his former archnemesis golfing together on a sunny day than fighting in the streets, in 2010. Their superhuman abilities have been passed on to their children, most of whom are too young to remember the glory days. Growing up in a world of peace, school and their friends have dominated their lives. There hasn't been any reason to distinguish themselves as heroes and villains. |
 The year is 2023 and Hogwarts’ first year under the reign of its new, tyrannical Headmaster, Tiberius Odgen, has come and gone. Students are free to enjoy their hard-earned summer beyond the reach of their stern faculty and archaic standards of conduct, no longer victims of dictations regarding everything from the volume of their laughter to the proximity they must maintain from the lakeshore (and members of the opposite sex!). The older students leaving their seventh years behind them enjoy this time with a sense of nostalgia and excitement as they prepare to enter the next phase of adulthood; some seeking employment and others leaning toward the option of tertiary education. Yes, slowly but surely, the Wizarding World has come to mirror its Muggle counterpart by founding Wizarding Universities, with Britain’s two establishments located in Scotland and England promising to turn determined academics into the kings and queens of tomorrow. But summer will only last so long. For all the younger kids, from fifth year to seventh, it’s only a matter of time before Hogwarts’ classrooms are filled with new sets of teenagers bombarded with rules and regulations, and a cross, ex-Hit Wizard Headmaster, who does not tolerate any kind of folly. | Welcome to Avalonis, where superheroes and villains walk the streets and nothing is quite what it seems. The city of Avalonis was once dubbed the superpowered capital of the world and even today the city is filled with people who can do the most extraordinary things. Some can move things with their mind, others can read them and then there are some who have no powers at all but insist on fighting for justice nonetheless. As when you have a city filled with heroes, villains will follow and now the city is host to some of the most spectacular and epic show downs the world has ever seen. Beneath the shiny exterior of the city and the side that the tourists come to see in the hope of catching a glimpse of the city's famous heroes and villains is a layer of corruption. The Irish mob and Italian mafia control parts of the city, pushing prostitution and drugs onto the streets of Avalonis. If there's something you crave then there's always a way to get it, no matter how sordid your tastes. There's a reason why the city needs heroes. Avalonis Police Department is rife with corruption. The internal struggle within the department is probably why they have yet to pay full attention to the recent disappearances of young superpowered individuals, but how long can these disappearances remain unnoticed and who knows more than they're letting on? |
In the early 1990's humans became aware of the presence of mutants and super powered being among them. In 1998 mutant registration passed and in 2000 the multiple assassination of Senator Kelly and Bolivar Trask lead to the call for the arrest of nearly every known hero and mutant alive. Magneto opened up a home for all those on the run on the African Island of Genosha. For the next twelve years mutants lived in a peaceful society led by Magneto in isolation.
Then in December of 2012, the humans had a big surprise. The Skrull had been living among them for years, working their way into the infrastructure of every major government. Now they were taking Earth for their own.
General Nick Fury called for help of the former heroes in Exile on Genosha and in June 2015, the Skrull were defeated at last. A year later Kate Rasputin opened the Academy of Tomorrow on the site of the former Xavier Institute and now, in 2020, the first class is entering Summer Session of their senior year. The children of famous heroes are educated there with their own kind, finding structure, acceptance, and control of their abilities. SHIELD has been passed down to General Elijah Bradly (Patriot) and Hank McCoy (Beast) has become Speaker of the House.

... but there is still a lot of damage to repair within all of the four nations. Aang is doing the best job he can as the Avatar, but peace is something that takes a great deal of time and commitment from all parties. Zuko is still the Fire Lord of course, but there is an unrest within his kingdom. There are still a few older people who are loyal to his father and sister, and what Zuko doesn't know is that they are meeting in secret. The Water Tribes and the Earth Kingdom are slowly rebuilding, but Jet has survived through all of this, and he has formed a resistance. They are determined to overthrow the Fire Nation completely, and punish them all for the mistakes of a few. Perhaps the most important and astonishing discovery is Aang's return trip to the Eastern Air Temple. He was sifting through some things that were left behind when he found an old paper that was written by Sister Lio. Apparently she had sent several of the young Air Benders in her temple away just before the fire nation arrived, but no one knew where she had sent them to. Aang is determined to find them, because he doesn't want the Avatar cycle to end, and he doesn't want to be the last Airbender alive. | |
