God's Letter To All:
Hello. My name is God, though you really don't have to call me that.

I've been around for awhile, and you could say that I'm sort of over myself by now.

Like many deities and non-deities, I've gone through phases. My early days were wrathful and insecure, and then I sacrificed my own son to save humanity from the sins they committed despite my wrath. Now, I'm finding it's a bit wearisome to even find the motivation to help the people who inhabit the world I've created. Nietzsche had it wrong, when he said that I was dead; I'm just wondering if humanity is worth saving, now that my world has been corrupted by war, greed, and evil intentions.

It doesn't help matters, that Lucifer, my nemesis, is reincarnated every two-hundred years. Such a system ensures that he is ever fresh, ever ready to do battle, whereas I myself remain eternal and unchanging, and as the centuries wax, so waxes my weariness.

That time is approaching again, and Lucifer has chosen now to officially declare war on me, and all that is good, while he is most invigorated and I am feeling my age.

You may call me The Shepherd, and enter the new world I created. You will live and work as you did before if you leave your world and join Heaven's army. When you die, you may become an angel, but if you die as an angel, you return to the elements.

Please show me that there is still some good left in this world. For as long as good exists, evil shall not prevail.


Lucifer's Letter To All:

Ah, yes, I see my favorite person in all the universe has already contacted you. He's such a sweetie, right? I could eat Him up.

So, yes. I'm tired of simply being thrown aside. As we can see, I have the upper hand. Just look at all the sin! Everybody loves it! Lust, greed, gluttony, vanity, sloth, wrath, envy, pride. And America is likely the most potent area of them all. Oh, how good it feels to walk through the streets at night and watch you all! It makes me want to dance!

He doesn't like it, though. He doesn't like your fun! Who does He think He is to take such things from you? Isn't that what life is all about? You should have fun! You should live your life to the fullest! And let me tell you a secret:

They lie about Hell in the Holy-Book, ya see? They tell you it's all fire and brimstone, but think about it. I want to spite God, not follow His directions! It's a party down here! Everybody loves it!...Except maybe the little fallen angels we catch. Oh, those poor dear lost souls. They will eventually become one of us in time. They just have to deal for the moment.

So, yes, as you can see, you have nothing to fear from Hell. It is better than heaven, I assure you. Heaven is quite boring, with their pussy attitude and elitism. No one has fun there as they are always afraid of being judged and thought of as evil. Not to mention one wrong mistake and they're kicked out. The poor things. They worked so hard in life only to have to work hard again in their afterlife. They need to let loose!

Don't fall for His tricks. It's better here, you see? You'd be better off following your primal urges and coming to my side. We're going to be fighting a war! I already have more recruits than he does, but it would be so funny to see the look on His face when we pummel his army into the ground so effortlessly that it will seem as if all their preparation was null.

The Premise
It's the year 2004, six years after the war and life has moved on in peace since the defeat of Voldemort in the battle of Hogwarts. In this time of quiet, a sudden string of disappearances shakes the wizarding world. No one knows where the disappeared people are, what's happened to them, if they're alive or dead or even if they left by their own choice or not. Aurors stand without answers; newspapers and radio speculate wildly and the Ministry is in an internal uproar of power struggle and arguments. In these times, Aurors and hit-wizards are given more authority as more and more rules and laws are set aside as the Ministry tries to persuade people they're safe from harm.

What is going on? What is happening to those who disappear? Why are some groups targeted more by the Ministry's new actions than others? Does the Ministry know something they're not letting on? And does perhaps the Minister himself have something to do with what is going on?

Let your character help to sort out what is real from what is false...
The Game
Enigma is a role-playing game based on the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. The setting takes place six years after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends and the game is canon compliant to all seven books (minus the epilogue).

We are looking for creative and active players who want to build a story not only for their characters but for the game as a whole as well. Speculation, attempts of finding those missing and solving the mystery are all welcomed with open arms. All levels of experience are welcome, as long as you're willing to commit to the game and the events that unfold in it.

An epidemic of organ failures leads millions to their deaths. What follows is nothing less of chaos. With thousands of people dying off daily, graveyards and cemetaries become over populated. Mass burial grounds are placed beneath cities to keep up with the death toll.

Aidan Aiken, Charles Burke, Ford Carver and Daniel Hill all shared a flat while attending Oxford. The four became best friends over their years at the university. Aidan and Charles were the only two from England, while Ford was from Texas and Daniel was from Oregon. It didn't matter to the four men, they promised each other right after Graduation to have a boys trip once a year, a promise that they kept up even as they had families.

On the last trip in the summer of 2008, the men all went to South America where Charles Burke proposed the four men buy a ski resort in Colorado, they decided to do it. They forgot the part where they had to have a conversation with their wives and families, though. However, who passed up the opportunity to live out a dream? These for men? Not a chance. All very successful men who wanted to run something together.

While the wives of the men have met before, only the older children have met. As the families all re-located to Copper Mountain, Colorado, some took it well, some didn't. The eldest children were brought in to help run the mountain. It's a change for all of them, and some take it better than others.

For the kids still in high school they have private tutors, private instructors, they take classes together from instructors flown in from around the world. They want the kids to have the best education. Those in college have been highly encouraged to attend the University of Denver, a school only a short helicopter ride away, just under two hour drive away. They had a flat not far from campus, but it is important for them to come home, the fathers all want to make sure they are doing well.

Mountain life is very different from Austin, London, Newport and New York. Copper Mountain is resort, the same parties they are used to have changed, the people have changed. It's up to the families to see how it goes over, but don't expect extremely fancy parties, this is Summit County, Colorado, you're more likely to see jeans and a t-shirt at a fancy party instead of a designer dress.

In December 2003, the Ministry of Magic decided to hold a Quidditch Tournament with the old four teams when Harry Potter was a member. All four Hogwarts Teams decided to go, although some notable players were missing as they had died in battle, they still went to Hogwarts on April 14th. It was meant to be a fun way to start a new tradition of bring past players to the Hogwarts Pitch.

As Oliver Wood, Marcus Flint, Roger Davies, and Zacharias Smith walked to the center to shake hands, the teams surrounded them in a circle. That's when it happened. To the 28 players standing on the pitch it felt as though the ground had fallen out from beneath them. It was almost like a dream as they landed just outside a village. They all looked around trying to figure out what had happened. Seconds later an old woman who wouldn't show her face walked up to them, some had their wands drawn, some were just watching, some were getting ready to cry. As the old woman opened her mouth to speak, two figures started to walk towards her...

"Welcome, it is about time you showed up. We've been waiting for you. Welcome to your new home. You are tasked with completing a tournament and figuring out life here. You all have a room, and a job. Don't worry, time here isn't what you are used to. You will not miss anything from the world you are from.

There are two additional players here, they will take their rightful spots on Hufflepuff and Gryffindor. The two who have come in their place will act as substitutes for all four teams." The old woman smiled at them, and the two men flanking her showed their faces... Cedric Diggory and Fred Weasley. Each has been here since their respected deaths, growing to the age they would have been in your world."

Each player was quickly assigned a room, a journal to communicate in that also tells them when practice and matches are, and a day job... There is no trading, it is merely what the lives of these 30 Quidditch players now lead... With the promise as soon as a winner is announced they can go home....

Five years after Sunnydale was swallowed by the earth, it's back. Or a reasonable facsimile at least. Built over the ruins of the old town, the newly named Prescott Valley has been billed as a shining oasis full of new houses and families. A mere two hour drive from LA, Prescott Valley has cinemas, schools, a mall, several Starbucks... in short, all the amenities you would expect to find in a freshly built town.

And one that you wouldn't.

Deep below the town, something else has been rebuilt: the Hellmouth. Called to this portal between Earth and the Underworld is the Source, in the body of Cole Turner. In a last ditch effort to win his love back, Cole made a deal to take the Source into his body in exchange for actually getting a body. However, Cole was not as powerful as he thought and his plan to double cross the Source failed.

Working with the First, the two Biggest Bads of all time are slowly but surely taking over the town of Prescott Valley, on their way to dominating the world. Tentative news of increased supernatural activity has reached the ears of the Good, however and protectors the likes of the Slayers, the Charmed Ones and others have begun trickling back into the area to investigate. Unbeknownst to most of the Prescott Valleyians, humans have been recruited, lured with promises of power and riches, and slowly the town is decaying again.

In this epic battle of Good versus Evil, who's side will you be on?

Second Coming is a roleplay community set in the year 2238 in the fictional city of New Jerusalem. A re-enactment of the life of Christ, as well as Revelations (trust us, it almost makes sense!), Second Coming replaces religion with politics, and is currently looking for the vast majority of the cast of the Bible. All characters are based on characters from the Bible, although how closely they resemble the original character is based on the player's discrimination. Plenty of chance for freebased plot guided by the mods, as well as a long-term planned plot, Second Coming expects competency and activity while ensuring a healthy and happy ooc community as well. It all began with a strange sentient planet that had gotten lonely, and had begun to kidnap people from all times and places to keep itself company. To entertain it's 'guests', it created a world that, every so often, shifted, but always looked like some sort of resort on earth. In a rare moment of weakness, the King of the Goblins and Ruler of the Underground, Jareth, was taken unawares and brought to the Planet. What followed was an inevitable clash of egos as the powerful fae creature fought with the strange sentient planet. The battle was fierce, and the fallout completely unpredictable.

In the end, a new dimension was created, somewhere between Jareth's old home and the dimension occupied by the sentient planet. In this new land, Jareth appears to reign supreme. But can anyone truly rule in a world that was created in such a bizarre and tumultuous way? A few people had been brought along with him in the creation of the new realm, but Jareth decided that anything the Planet could do, he could do better. With that in mind, he began to bring in people from all places and times. Very soon, those who had been brought with him would have company...

July, 1997, shortly after the death of Albus Dumbledore. The Department of Mysteries has made an unbelievable breakthrough in time travel technology, giving them the ability to send people back to any time in the past, and bring them back to the present only one hour after they left, no matter how long the travelers spend there. Naturally, the first question is how to use this to advance the war effort.

A visit to Albus Dumbledore shortly before his death provides them with the answer, though they don't have the information to understand it: Albus advises them to send Harry Potter and his friends back to 1977, where they can search for and destroy Horcruxes at their leisure, without the war in the present taking the time to become too much worse. With that, the Trio - and Neville, Ginny, Luna, and Tonks - set off for the past.

August, 1977, shortly before the Marauders begin their seventh year at Hogwarts. Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters are terrorising the wizarding world, with their attacks becoming progressively worse; Dumbledore's Order, newly formed, is attempting to combat them. The time travelers find themselves once again installed in the safe haven of Hogwarts, where they masquerade as students while trying to solve the mystery of the Horcruxes.

But despite the fact that 1997 only progresses, for them, in leaps and jerks depending on when they return and how long they stay, it won't take long for Voldemort to realise that Harry Potter has vanished from the world as he knows it - and as more people join Harry in the past, wanting to help and wanting to hide, it becomes more and more obvious that the Ministry is involved. How long can the Ministry stand? And will it be long enough?

PREMISE

You wake up to the smell of smoke.


In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus.

You wake up to the crackle of dead airwaves.


Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty.

...And then came the final dream, The Night Island.

From dusk till dawn the Island played host to all flavors of tourism. It became a mortal and immortal playground, offering five dazzling glass stories of theaters, restaurants, shops and casinos. Music plays eternally in the halls and on the dance floors, and famous musicians are enticed from all over the world to play the bars and theaters. All of this surrounded what appeared to be the focal point of a large jungle that played host to all manner of exotic birds.

On the Island you could buy anything from leather to lace, rare diamonds and records, food from every country and a plethora of anything from chintz to chotskies. A mixture of old and new combined with luxuriant scents and extravagant dining.

The residents of the Island consist of recluse and private Millionaires to the average income workers and owners of the shops. All of which find pleasing accommodations in The Night Island Palazzo. Peace and tranquility can be found in your own private suite or apartment, located adjacent to the bustling night life of miniature city.

It is the summer of 1971 and all around Britain and new year of students are receiving their Hogwarts letters- pureblood, halfbloods and muggleborns alike. Follow these students through their summer and the coming year at Hogwarts. What will happen to them? Will their choices impact their already formed friendships? Will they bend to societies prejudices or tread their own path? Only time will tell.


Tom Riddle, now known as Lord Voldemort to a select few, has resurfaced and is gathering followers to fight a war of Blood Purity. Will your
character join him or fight for the ministry or Dumbledore? Perhaps they will stay neutral. Only time will tell.


The Beginning is a Harry Potter Roleplay set in 1971, the Marauders first year at Hogwarts. All characters who are alive in that year are available to play even if they are no longer in Hogwarts, plenty of things are going on in the rest of the Wizarding World. This is an AU game as you are not expected to stick with canon. Severus can become friends with the Marauders, Narcissa can like Amelia Bones... anything goes.

About Lakefront

Lake Flannery is a fictional town located near a lake in the state of New Hampshire. Though not all residents reside right on the lake, there is a community of slightly wealthier, slightly more well-to-do residents who own lakefront homes and homes with lake access. Lakefront is a thread-based RPG for original characters which focuses on the lives of the people who live in these homes. Characters of all ages are welcome, including teenagers and senior citizens, and we welcome any and all faces as PBs. At this time, adds are done three times a week, on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

Wanted Characters

At the moment, though we have an active core group of writers, we are looking to diversify our group of characters a little bit and bring in some new blood to spice things up. Future plot opportunities, such as a possible murder in the small town community, a lakeside carnival, and a mayoral election will be that much more fun with a few more personalities to throw into the mix. We are looking for pretty much any interesting character who could fit into a laidback, but active town-based game. About Eggs & Toast

Betty's Diner is a fictional business located in the real small town of Bigfork, Montana. Based on a song by Carrie Newcomer, Eggs & Toast is a thread-based RPG for original characters who frequent the diner and live and work in Bigfork. The game is brand-new - it just opened today, March 22nd - so many faces have yet to be claimed, and our members are eager to develop new plots and storylines. Adds will take place again tomorrow night, and at least twice more this week as we welcome more new members into the fold.
