P R E M I S E  Spring of 1843. The snow is melting. Soon, men will take their shovels to dig graves and the first casualties of the revolution will be laid to rest in the frontier town of Sedona. Lives have been devastated by a bombing and a train wreck. Ladies have become widows; children have become orphans.But life goes on. Those who have died will soon be out of mind. The shops sell their wares; more people want to own guns these days. Women sell their bodies. The saloons still serve drinks to people who want to forget about the world they live in, the people who used to live in it with them, and the people who still do. Some distance from the graveyard, in the Westonbirt Arboretum, flowers are blooming near the ground these bodies are hidden by. Their beauty will delight hearts that have been bowed by sorrow and fear. But these flowers will be cut and washed and their oils will be condensed and mixed and sold as magic. And the glass bottles they are sold in will become smeared by blood from the hands of the Victorian Company. The revolution has begun. The bodies that were just buried in the newly-thawed earth will be far from the last. This small town will become a battleground. Which side will you be fighting on? Walking further you suddenly hear a disembodied cry of something horrible; something deadly, and it sounds hungry. Adrenaline pumping through your veins you stop and look for the source of the noise, but can’t find anything. You continue to walk forward, thinking it’s all in your head, thinking maybe you’re being paranoid, but another retching scream calls out; now it’s right behind you. And suddenly you realize that the threat is real and you better be quick on your feet if you plan to survive. “Horrorwood” is a panfandom horror roleplay that takes place in an alternate city very similar to that of Hollywood, California, with the exception that the place has been barricaded from the outside world and is crawling with all too real monsters. Good guys, and even the bad guys, wake up to find themselves trapped and relying desperately on their keen survival instincts. In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus. Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty. |

fairvale, swansea, wales. Welcome to Fairvale, newly instated Wizarding town. It was built in 2003 and finished in 2004 under the first term of new Minister for Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt. After the conclusion of the Second War the UK was left in shambles, it's government thrown askew and with nobody to lead, the people happily elected him to be their guide. Kingsley has done a great job since then. He rebuilt Wizarding London, sent out a wide sweep of Hitwizards and Aurors alike (many of them students of the DA as volunteers) to catch the remaining Death Eaters, imprisoning many, giving fair trials, and then rewarding said Death Eaters with the Kiss, or a life time imprisonment. (Lucius Malfoy was however, pardoned thanks to the leniency of Harry Potter.) Not so happy for them, but the UK rejoiced. Minister Shacklebolt's final moment to give the Wizarding World back it's hope, to increase the brotherly love and integration of Pureblood and Muggleborn witches and wizards alike, he set out to build a utopia, and achieved it. Thus, Fairvale was born. Each important building is a monument to a soul who was lost in the war, and it was centered around the most overlooked of them all, as the town stretches out from Creevey Park, named for Colin Creevey, the brave boy who got out of Azkaban as he'd been sent there for the crime of being a Muggleborn so long ago, and died in the woods attempting to get to the battle, cruelly attacked from behind. This place is where the happiness lies. It is up to everyone else to find it. But things are not as the seem. Fairvale was built upon land that was enchanted by the world's greatest wizard, Merlin. Without the knowledge of the ministry, the town was constructed upon the age old magic and the heroes of the Battle of Hogwarts and others of the second war were buried there.This magic allowed those that were missed so dearly by their friends and families to rise from the grave. In this city, bent on the peace of humanity there are many problems, such as old rivals living together in close range. By Merlin's magic, the town is completely controlled and depends on the feelings and actions of the people.The more animosity, the more negativity, the town grows worse in condition and natural disasters spring forth at random. And yet, the more love and affection shown between countrymen the better the days in their city, creating long, bright, warm days in the middle of bitter winters. Welcome to Fairvale, because here, we take brotherly love very seriously. |
Beneath the Red Booth is a post Hogwarts game set in 2003. It centers around the Ministry of Magic and those employed there. Playable characters have been assigned jobs or are spouses of those who work at the ministry.
Shacklebolt works to rebuilt the Ministry, reforming wizard law, rounding up straggling Dark Wizards five years after the war. The teens of Harry's time are adults now, with adult lives and adult problems.
