Not to mention the creatures that seem to be picking our band apart, smaller and smaller. What are these beasts that slip out of the night and feast on human flesh? At the mark of the 22nd century, the human race finally cracked the code on intergalactic space travel, allowing anyone and everyone to explore the deep levels of space. New galaxies were found as alien races were discovered. Humans finally realized that they weren’t the only people in the universe, let alone the smartest race. Humanity struggled to find its place in the newly discovered community of races and most humans dwindled away, never to be seen again. As new technologies were discovered, the 'aliens' found out how much they really held a distaste for the humans. In a way to destroy their connections, they decided to implode the earth, leaving many humans stranded and alone. Disorder ran through the galaxies and it was evident that a set government needed to be made and created. It was then that the Galactic Core was created, placing Kaolin Barnes as leader of their government. Little did they know at the time what the man had up his sleeve. Their straight and narrow frontman proved to be anything but when it came down to it. Barnes wasn't just the leader of the Galactic Core, but also the creater and runner of the Core underground where drugs, weapons, and even people were bartered for money. However, a political leader is not able to run these dark dealings himself, he must higher a crew to fly around the galaxy and pick up his goods. Barnes searched the depths of the world for special 'people'. Although people thought that humans were all off and dead forever, some had survived. And those survivors held special abilities. From stealth to accelerated healing, these humans were born in this deicmated world, without the love of their families. That is why when Barnes found each and every crew member of The Dream Weaver and The Onyx he gave them two choices. Work as a smuggler for the biggest mod boss ever known or be shot for being human. All chose life. Barnes created two smuggling ships, The Dream Weaver and The Onyx. Both ships housed 15 people with a multitude of powers and abilities. These two ships grew to hate each other deeply because both were competing for Barnes' attention. However their jobs were the same. Their objective: find, gather, and transport Barnes' goods to whomever was buying. In turn, the crews get compensated for their work and get to live another day. As long as they were compliant, their lives weren't in danger of extinction. As the crews did their jobs around the galaxy, the feeling of mutiny encased them all. They knew who was running the biggest ring of criminal activity this side of the Milky Way. Sure they were humans, but if they could hunt out the people and take down Barnes, there was a real possibility that humans, those hidden in the undergrounds and throughout the Galactic Core that were supposedly dead, could resurface and show their faces to the world once more. But what happens when the two ships are found out as humans? Can they avoid getting captured by Barnes or killed by the Core armada that he will send after the humans? Will the two ships be able to put aside their differences and come together to end the Alien tyranny and allowe humans to take control once more? Or will Barnes decimate the two crews overtime and find new people to run his circle of drugs and criminal activity? Find out at Insurgent! |

In the year 2008, a virus swept North America. Ever vigilant for a pandemic, citizens boarded up their windows, stockpiled their canned goods, and turned their neighbors in to the CDC. Short wave radios fell off the shelves, evacuation routes were prepared. Gas masks and specialty filtration systems were distributed. Pills were available for those showing early symptoms. Pills that did not work. That were later replaced with cyanide as their active ingredient. For those who were brave enough to put their fingers near a loved one's mouth. The United States, Canada, Mexico, the virus swept down into South America and festered in the heat of the jungle. In some places it burned out. Superstition ruled and saved lives. But nothing stopped the virus. Three months after the first diagnosed case of Currere Excessum was recorded, NATO approved Great Britain's use of nuclear force against the United States. It was assumed that all organic material would be reduced to ash under the impact. It was assumed that the Quarantine of the Americas would be temporary, at best. Any who survived the blast would be given the highest in humanitarian attention and medical care. The only American emissaries who knew of the plan lay incinerated in Washington. The Quarantine continued. The Americas lay abandoned. Empty. |

It is the summer of 1971 and all around Britain and new year of students are receiving their Hogwarts letters- pureblood, halfbloods and muggleborns alike. Follow these students through their summer and the coming year at Hogwarts. What will happen to them? Will their choices impact their already formed friendships? Will they bend to societies prejudices or tread their own path? Only time will tell.
Tom Riddle, now known as Lord Voldemort to a select few, has resurfaced and is gathering followers to fight a war of Blood Purity. Will your
character join him or fight for the ministry or Dumbledore? Perhaps they will stay neutral. Only time will tell.
The Beginning is a Harry Potter Roleplay set in 1971, the Marauders first year at Hogwarts. All characters who are alive in that year are available to play even if they are no longer in Hogwarts, plenty of things are going on in the rest of the Wizarding World. This is an AU game as you are not expected to stick with canon. Severus can become friends with the Marauders, Narcissa can like Amelia Bones... anything goes.
