From its inception as a speak-easy to the hedonistic 70s there was one club in New Orleans that exceeded all others. Infamous and notoriously secretive and difficult to get into, it was The Eccentric. Times and tastes changed, but the nightclub always adapted and managed to thrive. Rumors were everywhere for decades, not least of which was that the criminal element that had created it had never left. Owned by a single family for generations, The Eccentric was finally sunk when its last owner overdosed, leaving behind no one to follow in the family business.
Now, after years of planning, The Eccentric will at last be reopened as a cabaret, recalling its earliest days as a haven of debauchery and a place to leave the mundane far behind. Ads have been posted calling for musicians and performers, and while no one being hired seems to know who exactly is at the top of the ladder most simply can't be bothered to care, seizing the opportunity for steady work and, if not fame, then notoriety.
