Kirley & Mel
Melinda hadn't really expected to be at a holiday dinner. Not that she wasn't grateful for the distraction - and as good an idea it sounded to stay in bed with Matthew for as long as she could - but she'd honestly expected to sink her mind into her cauldrons and likely wake up tomorrow morning smelling maybe a bit musty with a parchment of notes stuck to her cheek.
Her usual weekday morning.
Still, she went. She'd dressed herself in toxically pink skinny jeans, and a open-knit black sweater that hung from her thin frame. She'd even donned a pair of white and pink bunny ears that contrasted her slick black hair. Though her first plate hadn't been terribly big, convinced that she wasn't particularly hungry, by the time she'd sat down and started eating, her stomach sang the tune of a different story. A second plate was most definitely in order. She'd gotten out of her seat to make her way to the spread of food and she began loading up. She knew she shouldn't have worn skinny jeans.
A sound that she hadn't really been expecting to hear was Kirley's voice. It was a silly thing lately to not expect that. Still, she found a smile growing across her lips as her eyes rose to the man. "Is it strange and unusual?" She asked softly. "Like when you see a professor outside of school?"
