Remus felt his insides wrench at Sirius's response, at how strangled his voice sounded. Remus never wanted to be the reason for it and yet here he was, and there was nothing he could do to stop it or change it. It was hard to get through to Sirius in general, even when they had been together--but now Remus was certain it'd be impossible. He felt his heart jump to his throat as he looked at him and sucked in a sharp breath. He hadn't expected this to go well. He didn't expect to walk out of here in one piece. He hurt. He ached. He had missed Sirius. He still loved Sirius. But he loved Dora as well. Nothing was simple. Nothing was easy. There was no right and wrong here, It broke Remus's heart to do this, because it wasn't like he had forgotten about Sirius after he died. He hadn't. He had mourned him far longer than anyone else. Dora had been the only person he could turn to and their relationship grew from there.
"Sirius-" he said, his voice coming out in a harsh whisper as he tried to control his voice and emotions. "please." he wanted to reach out and just touch him, but he was afraid how the other would react. Closing his eyes for a brief moment, he weighed his options before reaching out and closing his hand over the other's wrist. "I never stopped loving you Sirius. Never." he said softly, insistently. "I need you in my life."
