The clinic had done all it could for him, bandaging him up, dressing his wounds, giving him a cast and sling for his arm. He hadn't changed in the night and that meant that he wasn't going to become a werewolf, and the relief in him was strong.
Werewolves were cool and all, but the way that Logan had described it, it would have been torture for him, given that his body wasn't made for the transformation, and besides, picking up lychanthropy from some assholes in a park wasn't something he wanted... he didn't want to deal with them to leave that deep of an imprint on him. It made him want to scrub out his own veins, never mind take a shower.
The whole thing brought him to a sudden, swift realisation: he couldn't keep living like this. He just couldn't.
So when he got out, he tried to seek out the only other kind face that he knew in the Waffle House. She was young, but she was wise, and she'd clearly seen some shit, and he trusted her judgement.
"Tea, tea, tea..." he said to himself. It was a pretty flimsy excuse, but maybe tea would be good for him.
