After the MoM Ball Luna had hid out at her home for what had almost been an entire week. She hadn’t really wanted to leave the house because she wanted to have a handle on herself first. She had gotten stuck in the cloakroom with Draco, and while he’d been on his best behavior and nothing bad had happened, it had still sent Luna through a bit of a loop. It had made her remember being kidnapped from the train, being trapped in the basement of Malfoy Manor, and every terrible thing that had happened. She had tried not to make a big deal about any of it because she didn’t want anyone marching over to Malfoy Manor to yell at Draco. She didn’t blame Draco for what happened to her and she didn’t think anyone needed to have some sort of talk with the man. He hadn’t done her any harm, though he hadn’t been helpful. Either way, she was just glad that nothing seriously bad had happened after the entire incident.
With Halloween quickly approaching, Luna’s thoughts had shifted to another area that she was sorely lacking knowledge in, boys. Michael had agreed to be her date for the Halloween Masquerade and she still had to put the finishing touches on the costumes. Although things with Michael seemed to be going so well, Luna still wasn’t entirely sure what she was doing. She was completely out of her element and there was only one man in her life that she felt comfortable asking these odd questions of. She didn’t think she could ask Harry or Ron about boys, they were more like brothers to her and it just seemed awkward. Dean on the other hand was different, they were close and family sure, but she found it much easier to ask him the more personal questions that she wouldn’t dare ask anyone else.
It for these reasons she’d asked Dean to meet her at Sweet Nothings. She figured they could have some tea, maybe a snack, and chat. Sweet Nothings was easily one of Luna’s favorite places. She popped in every single morning to pick up tea, coffee, and snacks for her father and herself. Whenever she had to really meet with anyone but Ginny, she’d meet them at either Sweet Nothings or the Leaky Cauldron. Normally she would have asked Dean to meet her there but she didn’t want anyone overhearing them at the Leaky. Too many of their friends hung out there daily, she wanted just a little bit of privacy.
Luna had arrived at Sweet Nothings early, a usual habit of her’s, and picked out a table. She hadn’t ordered tea for them yet however, she wanted to let Dean have a choice in what he drank. She never liked choosing for someone else. She was sure that she stood out a bit, her blonde locks were left down though she had a brightly colored flower crown that seemed to disappear into her messy hair the farther back I went. She had worn a pair of black tights and a blue dress that was quickly becoming one of her favorites. She had a book open on the table in front of her, it was Rolf’s new book. She was doing a bit of research for the classes she was hoping to get started in January, so long as she could get everything together for it. She figured it was a good way to pass the time while she waited for Dean to arrive.
