"As if you obey me," Ella said, voice more rife with amusement. She never had been able to make him mind terribly well. None of the siblings ever had. Sometimes their children would, when they really wanted something especially, but it was hit and miss. She considered herself lucky that so far Auri was a relatively biddable child. But Tim did listen to her much of the time, and at least consider what she said, and it helped.
"You and my insane cats," she laughed. She despaired about her poor furry babies. They didn't act like proper cats at all. But nonetheless they were her furry babies and she doted on them as she did her brother and the kids and whatever and whoever else Septimus introduced her to, dragons and keepers alike.
She simply knew that one day Septimus would want something more than her and the kids and the cats. It made her fearful, because she loved her brother and considered him her dearest friend especially now that her husband was gone. Him and ZJ were her only real adult friends.
