Re: Draco and Luna
Luna hadn’t even realized that Draco was upset. Well, upset more than he had already let on. She would have apologized, if she hadn’t been able to just get the hare out of the room they were stuck in. His silence had been appreciated so that she could concentrate on getting them out. When he said she was welcome, she finally turned her attention back to him.
“Why do you have to be so…” She couldn’t think of the right word. Rude didn’t seem to cover it but saying he as mean was childish and unfair. He wasn’t being mean, he wasn’t saying nasty things or harming her in any way. He was being rude. “Rude? I mean, honestly. It helps nothing.” She doubted he cared at all what she thought of his attitude towards her or anyone else. It made her feel just slightly better to ask. Though she was almost certain that he would either not answer her at all or give her a look like she was still Looney Lovegood from their school days.
From the other side of the door Luna could hear the sounds of Professor Flitwick starting to undo whatever they had done so that he could get them out. She thought she had heard him say, “Ms. Lovegood” but she couldn’t be sure. At least they’d be getting out of the cloakroom soon and he could go back to pretending that she didn’t exist.
