Re: Septimus and Quintella
Septimus just smiled. He knew his sister's opinion of him. She'd never been shy of telling him just how wonderful he was, and of course, he believed it. He'd never had a moment of being truly self conscious in all his life, though usually, it was because he didn't care all that much. Still, he had to wonder at whether what she said was actually true. Not that he thought she was lying, of course. Tim fully believed that his sister thought that what she said was true. And he usually agreed. But when he had a moment, and these were not often given just how enamoured he was with his job and work, when he had a moment or two to question things, he often thought about the fact that he was getting on a bit in his family's eyes and had yet to have even one partner.
Surely, there was something to be said about that. Something wrong with that. There was something wrong with him, quite possibly. He didn't want to think it and didn't consider it all that often at all, but he knew it was likely. After all, his other keepers managed to balance things well enough, didn't they? And it seemed that even when Tim genuinely tried to look for someone that nothing happened. So the question had to come to him, really. Was it far more likely that it was Septimus who was the problem? He thought so.
"Maybe," Tim said simply, and brushed his lips to his sister's knuckles before taking a bow as the music ended and a new song struck up. "I'm going to go and fetch drinks, Ella. I expect your dance card is already looking rather full?"
