There was only a brief moment of hesitation before she slipped onto his lap, sitting sideways though her torso was twisted toward him. Her own arms went around him as he hugged her, wondering what this was all about. Though maybe he was just still stunned by the news and needed a moment of comfort before going about their evening.
His murmured compliment made her feel both warm and awkward. Was it really bravery? She kept waiting for the panic to set in, and it still might, but so far the though thrilled her more than freaked her out, and she was happy to embrace that feeling. "I think I've always wanted to be a mum," she admitted softly in reply. "That helps some." Though she had no idea what he thought about the concept aside from his earlier comment that he'd never really thought about having kids.
"Oh yes," she assured him as she started toward the kitchen again. "If this isn't a false alarm, it's too early yet for any of the more common symptoms to show up, but probably within a couple of weeks." She wasn't sure how much he knew about the changes she would be facing physically, as it wasn't his field of expertise within the medical field, but she wasn't going to assume he wasn't aware either.
