Yes, blunt could be good but it could also be harsh. He didn't always do well with harsh, for his sometimes cutting tongue protected a man who could be rather sensitive in many ways. And he did not mind as she found her words, sorting through them to tell him something that kept his nerves ratcheted up, even as he waited.
It took a moment for him to absorb the words, and he blanched a bit from the sheer shock of it. Not displeasure because honestly there was no time yet for anything, if he was even going to be prone to it. No. Just sheer, simple shock. Because out of all the reasons they might 'need to talk' that there were, he had truly not thought this one of them. For one, he knew she was on the potion, that particularly potion, in fact. And he even knew why, because he was a nosey friend who wanted to make sure she had the best care possible and so he snooped sometimes, just to check.
"I...." And for once, Theodore Nott was utterly robbed of words. Not that he was the most garrulous or articulate man in the world, for he wasn't. But normally he could come up with something. He ran a hand back through his hair and leaned back into the cushions, jsut staring at her for a moment as if she had blindfolded him, spun him around several times, and then let him loose. He looked dizzy in that fashion.
"I don't know what to say," he said somewhat weakly when he found his words again. "I.. didn't even think this was a possibility. I haven't even thought about kids." Not really. It wasn't as if he had had a serious sort of partner until her, really, and even now, like she'd said, it was so new and they were still getting to know each other on that other level. "I'm not upset," he hastened to add, since his keen mind was already telling him that whatever she had been dosed with had likely interacted with her medicines or what he'd given her afterward and nullified it in an unpredictable fashion. "I'm not. I'm just.. I don't even know."
He didn't know how he was supposed to react, or if there was a way he was supposed to. He wasn't mad, he wasn't looking to end things, even, when he poked that aspect in his mind. He was just... shocked.
