Despite being hungry, Hannah turned the oven down to keep warm and let the pie there, deciding she'd rather wait to share the meal with Theo once he was here, though she did make herself a salad to tide herself over until he was able to come over. She was surprised when the knock on the door came just a bit earlier than she'd expected, though she smiled as she went to open it. There were some nerves deep under the surface, but she was surprisingly happy about this and didn't want to pretend otherwise.
"Hello, Theo," she greeted him warmly, reaching out for his hand to draw him inside, though she did wait to lean up and brush her lips over his until after she'd shut the door.
A part of her wanted to offer dinner right away, but she knew she wouldn't be able to put off telling him. She knew he was prone to worrying, and this wasn't something she wanted him to worry about more than he likely already had. But neither did she want to just blurt it out. "Come, sit," she suggested, leading him into the living room and motioning for him to sit on the couch before perching on the edge of the coffee table in front of him.
For all she'd thought and thought and thought today, though, she hadn't planned out just how to tell him, and the words all jumbled in her head for a moment as she sat there looking at him. She closed her eyes, lifting a hand to her forehead, fingertips pressing against her temples for a moment as she tried to get her brain to unscramble. "Sorry," she apologized when she looked at him again. "Sometimes the thoughts are all there, and then they're not, and I need time to find them again." She flinched, but at least he was aware of her continued issues with her brain injury and would, hopefully, be understanding.
