He definitely got the impression she was placating him just a bit with that, the pat on his arm surprising him just a little, though he did tend to be a more tactile sort of person once he was comfortable with the other person and had the impression that she was somewhat similar in that. It was nice, he thought, that she seemed so comfortable with him, especially considering how guarded she'd been at first at the park that day.
"Uh huh, sure you don't," he countered, eyes narrowing a bit more before he took another drink from his glass, not downing it this time. "Oh, I highly doubt you're harmless, love. You forget, I've seen you with your children. I imagine there's very little you wouldn't do to protect them," he pointed out, perhaps a bit more seriously than the moment called for. But she was a powerful woman, and he had no intention of underestimating her in that respect. Or any respects, really.
