Re: Robert and Dora
He noticed, only really because of the subject matter, that her eyes were somewhat focused on his lips, and he wondered for a moment... Had she asked because she wanted to kiss him? But no, that was a rather arrogant thought, and he pushed it away. Probably it was just because of the noise, which he'd even noticed had seemed to pick up a bit more as they'd been talking. Besides, it wasn't like she'd even been giving off flirtatious vibes at all.
"Yes, exactly," he replied with a wide, genuine smile, pleased that he'd managed to explain it well enough for her to understand. In some ways it was what had started his affair with Silvie--they'd created Alice and Wesley and channeled them to start with as a sort of cover. It was still wrong, he knew that in some logical, locked away part of his brain he wasn't listening to just yet.
Robert thought he caught a hint of flush to her cheeks, but brushed it off. No need to read more into it than it was crowded and warm in here and she'd been drinking. "Well, thank you." Though he'd never really thought she would. It was part of why he was enjoying getting to know her so much.
Of course, then she had to go and say that, and he groaned, lifting a hand to scrub over his face. "Bridget," he supplied, grimacing at the still too-fresh memory. "And please, for the love of all that's holy, don't let her think that's even an option." He lifted his drink then, contemplating her over it for a moment. "You... you are trouble, aren't you?" he accused jokingly with slightly narrowed eyes, pointing at her with his drink.
