"I don't know," he hedged, trying to hide his grin a bit now. "I might be willing to sacrifice a little quality to pull off a surprise." Because, yes, he did have that little bit of fun and drama in him, it was just not as obvious right away.
Robert shifted against the bar while she spoke, an unconscious response to the stiffness in his leg that still cropped up from time to time, more so when the weather was poor, but sometimes just from doing any one thing too long. "All right, hmmm," he hummed, looking at her consideringly, certain that he could some up with a good movie suggestion for her. "Oh, no. No, definitely nothing with stupid humor. That's far too American, of course," he joked. He'd lived in the States long enough to have plenty of exposure to the stupid humor sorts of movies and had never cared for them either.
He let his mind drift back through the countless titles he'd seen in his life so that he might offer her the best suggestion he could, completely unaware that he'd just been recognized and their lovely conversation was about to be interrupted.
