Re: Robert and Dora
The TV hadn't lied about his smile, that was for certain. It was charming, but somehow, in person, she had the sense that he didn't truly realize it. "It suits, mind you, but I would never have guessed it right off," she said, glad he didn't seem offended by the observation, at least. But people were like that, she knew. She enjoyed watching people, especially these days. It was interacting where she had trouble at times. Though outwardly friendly, and she was, there was a wall of reserve that most hit after a while, and found that it was too hard to climb. Too hard to get inside.
Too much work.
"You'll have to see if you can figure out who I am, then," Dora said, witha faint little smile playing around her lips. Samhain and Halloween, this was a season where her talents shown especially well, the one time when she could truly dress different and be different and it was actually okay. Acceptable. One of the main reasons she'd stopped the silly things like streaks in her hair for a day was that people did not view it well, and while she never quite conformed, she had to be seen as respectable lest she encounter trouble.
She hadn't planned a costume, not really, not yet, but it would be something truly fun. She hadn't done much last year or the year before, too lost in her losses still, but her creativity was coming back to her.
Her head tilted a little, bird like, as she watched him, her pale, unusual eyes keen as a hawk's or eagle's. Wondering at the way he suddenly downed his drink, but not asking anything. "What sorts of things might you dress up as, then?" she asked with genuine curiosity, just as she might have in a letter to him.
