Robert and Dora
When Robert had heard tonight's theme for the Carnival, he'd gone back and forth on whether or not he wanted to go. The deciding factor really was that he'd realized he needed to be seen out in public socializing right now. What was happening between him and Silvie... well, he knew it would be damaging in more than one way to both of them if it ever got out, and the last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt her, so he would do what he could to keep any speculation about him focused away from her.
That didn't mean that he was going to find some woman to use as a cover, but it couldn't hurt to be seen socializing here tonight. He would go, have a few drinks, talk to people, dance with people, and then go home, likely alone. And he was okay with that; alone was probably for the best, anyway, considering he would never be able to give a woman a family anyway.
But those depressing thoughts wouldn't get him anywhere. Instead, he pushed them away, donned his old school uniform after making some size adjustments to it to encompass his taller, broader physique, and then headed out to Victory Road and the Carnival. He'd even wore his old blue and bronze tie, not shy about showing a bit of pride in his old house, though he wasn't doing it for a discount but instead to just get in the spirit and mood and fun of the event.
Robert went to the bar first for a drink, looking around to see if he'd recognize anyone there he would want to have a conversation with.
