Katie + OPEN
Katie slid into her usual seat at the very back end of the bar, sliding her notebook out of her satchel and tucking her long black hair behind her ear. She waved to Lisa, who brought over a glass of her favorite white wine, and then took a quick look around just to get the lay of the land. As usual on Wednesdays, there were groups of witches scattered about, enjoying the special and catching up about a weekend of fun outings and the latest office water-cooler-chat. It was all just buzzing noise to Katie - she didn't even try to get info out of crowds anymore, not since her outing as The Birdie, and instead worked with her trusty network of spies to get her intel.
Really, all she did at this point was the write the rumors down.
But it was still fun to stop into the bar and see people titter about, especially if they recognized her at all. Some women would blush, some would lower their voices, even a year after her name had come out. She found the whole thing funny, now at least. Of course, it had done nothing her still fairly non-existent fating life, and some of her friends had taken a while to come around, but luckily she didn't mind the loner life and those she really cared about had listened to her and hadn't blamed her for any life-ruining that The Birdie had been responsible for.
The seat next to her was empty, so she laid her bag on it, figuring she could move it if asked by another patron, and she tucked into her notes.
