Percy gave her the same look he usually did when she reminded him to eat. Was there time to eat on days like this? He wanted to call Penelope, but he knew better, today of all days.

I need to go on sharply at noon so as to catch the lunch crowd, and I'll need you to pop out to Powys at 12:30 to see how the pub is doing, it's the only one we're running and people have shared concerns." He shook his head, as if it mattered ~where people were casting their votes. The pub portion of the business was closed until after 6 anyway. It wasn't like voters could go in, drink a bottle of whiskey, and then drunkenly make their choice.
