My dearest sister,
I might not say it enough, but I hope you know how very much I love you. I know I've been distant lately, and I'm very sorry. I really want to plan for us to go out to dinner, perhaps next weekend? I didn't manage to get off my arse enough this week to plan properly, and I am sorry for it.
Anyway, I want to wish you such a happy birthday and many more. You are so dear to my heart. You're so smart, and sweet, and wonderful. You've been a supportive sister and the world's absolute best aunty. Thank you, for being you. The world is so much richer for having you in it. Happiest of happy birthdays (from the twins as well... that dent in the bottom of the card is McKay trying to chew on it).
The owl has your package, and I plan to take you out soon. I want to get back in the habit of our weekly dates.
Love, Your sister,
Panda
[Attached is a package with two items wrapped in it -- a charmed wooden keepsake box and a memory book of Persephone and the twins so far, with annecdotes of their pregnancy food adventures and then pictures that Dora has taken of Persy with the babies, and a few prettily written stories of things that have happened so far.]
Darling daughter,
I thank the gods every day that you are in my life and have been for so long. I'm so proud of the woman you've become. I love you, my daughter of spring, and you have always brought me such joy. Enjoy this exceedingly good (or so I was promised) bottle of wine and the spa day I thought you might enjoy. Happy birthday, Persephone.
