"You should bring him next time," Addi told Persephone with a grin. She thought Matey would enjoy playing with another pup--the one-eyed dog certainly enjoyed all the human company Addi had been having lately.
They didn't do this nearly often enough, Addi thought as Persephone teased Zee too. She knew they'd been friends for years, and sometimes she wondered if she should feel bad about how much of Zee's free time she commandeered. But she didn't feel bad, and she did like Persephone as well. They just hadn't bonded in the same way she'd bonded with Zee. Which was why she really thought they should all get together like this more often.
"You did, we planned your whole wedding without you," Addi answered dryly, wrinkling her nose toward Zee, though she did resist sticking her tongue out.
