If Tate was honest with himself, he was slightly dreading having this talk with Persephone. He knew he needed to be completely honest, about everything that was going on with Emilia, as well as Naomi, and where he saw his future heading with Zeke. It was a lot when he didn’t even know if there was anything between himself and Persephone, she might just tell him to take a long walk off a short pier, but he was hopeful that wasn’t the direction this conversation was going to take.
Between the time Tate had come home from work, and when Persephone was due to come home, left him with far too much on his hands. Unable to occupy his thoughts, he’d gone about cooking the pair of them dinner. He saw no reason they couldn’t talk and eat, and it would keep his mind busy so that he didn’t get himself too stressed about the entire thing. He had settled on making glazed pork with fresh plums, he had everything he needed at the flat already.
By the time Persephone was coming in from work, the house smelled delicious of the meal he was putting the finishing touches on. There was even a dessert, a couple cupcakes he had picked up from Sweet Nothings before he had headed upstairs for the night. It hadn’t crossed his mind that it was too much, he always tried to cook for the two of them. It was so much easier to cook for two than it was to cook for just himself.
Tate hadn’t heard her come in though, his music just a little too loud, as he listened to one of his favorite bands Social Distortion. He was even singing along, though off key, as he finished getting the pork out of the oven.
