Re: At the wake - Parry and Addi
Addi leaned forward just enough to return the hug, her own lips brushing against his scruffy cheek in return. She was almost disappointed when he stood back up, though she knew it was ridiculous. After everything, though, she'd found herself desperate for physical contact, for that simple connection. It felt like she and Zee had spent more time cuddling in the last day and a half than they'd done the whole time they'd known each other, but they'd both needed it.
She let out a soft, watery laugh at Parry's remark, lifting up the handkerchief clutched in one hand up to dab at her eyes. "Probably," she agreed, though despite how intimate they'd been, she'd never felt like she'd known him as well as she should have. But she did think Parry was right about that. She rather thought both Phillip and Ewan would be uncomfortable with all the fuss. "I wish I could have a drink to him," she admitted with a sigh, her eyes brimming with tears again. She was beginning to think it wasn't going to ever stop.
