Re: Inside the Leaky Cauldron: Persephone + Elijah + open
It was never easy to find a dead body in a situation like this--not that it ever was easy to--but he recognized that look in Persephone's eyes as she looked down at the man. She knew him. That always made it even more difficult, and he felt for her, but they still had a job to do.
"It'll hold for us to do what needs to be done," he assured her even as they moved to the next body.
A redhead lay there unmoving, full lips parted and hazel eyes open and glossed over. He recognized her from one of the times he'd gone into Honeydukes with Tate and Zeke and felt a pang in his chest as he remembered her being friendly with a 1000-watt smile. He didn't remember her name, though, which he realized with some regret. And then he noticed the book her fingers still curled limply around, blood having streamed down her arm and soaking into the cover so that he couldn't even read the title. A quick spell confirmed that she was gone.
"There's nothing we can do for her," he murmured and then silently cast the black orb to float over her body. "Let's go on." There were at least more people filing in, more Healers and other personnel to help.
