Blaise had a skill not many had. It was something that had come at least somewhat naturally, but that his mother had also frequently encouraged and taught to him. He was a powerful wizard, and he'd put a lot of work into not always needing a wand to do things, simply his keen focus and concentration.
When she froze, he was a little worried. He didn't think he'd overstepped; it was just a bracelet, not a necklace or a ring or anything like that. But then she was right up against him, her mouth against his, and he responded without thinking, mouth slanting over hers and kissing her back. She'd startled him into forgetting, for an instant, that line he'd promised to honor.
