Silvie's laughter died at his outburst. "It was... complicated..." She shook her head and pled with him via her gaze to keep dancing, keep moving, pretend everything was fine. Her arms didn't come from around him when she lowered her voice and said, nervously, "Terence had this ridiculous idea and I'd gone along with it and then things are started to feel real and then he'd bought that stupid cottage after we'd only been on, like, one actual date, one night that we weren't pretending and I'd freaked out and sent him back the keys and we didn't really see each other again until Cho's wedding..." It all spilled out of her quickly, probably not making much sense, but her panic at making a potential scene made her frightful and small.
