When Lancelot had reached out to Gaspard he had thought for sure that the other man wouldn't want to meet him to authenticate the cauldron himself. He had been fully prepared to be brushed off to an assistant, maybe even a lawyer, or something. He was thrilled that Gaspard was going to be authenticating it himself, that had to bring the value up, though Lancelot had no intention of letting this one go from his collection.
The cauldron that he had acquired had been placed inside a large trunk that Lancelot hoped would keep it safe from damage. He carried it up to the doorstep, knocking just after he set it down at his feet. He was still debating if he wanted to ask Gaspard to sign it, even if it turned out to not be the real thing, when he heard the door opening.
