Who: Penelope and Silviya When: Monday, 9. October, 2009 – around lunchtime Where: Penny & Percy’s flat What: Bossy Silvie has ordered a day in PJs with Penny Warnings: TBD
Pyjamas! It just had to be pyjamas. It was one thing for Silvie to ask for a day off – which she more than anybody deserved, and Penelope was happy to help her disconnect, even if she had a lot on her own schedule – but to demand that they were wearing pyjamas? At one day short of thirty-seven weeks, Penelope had reached a point where even Percy’s shirts no longer fit her comfortably, and her tailored-to-adapt sets she used for work, was the only clothes she had that really fit. Basically, that boiled down to her having not one, but two wardrobes that wouldn’t fit her today. So, she had pulled on one of the maxi-dresses she could wear for work, though rather than the blazer she would normally have paired it with, she had pulled on one of Percy’s pyjama-shirts, leaving it open because there was no way she would ever be able to button it.
Silvie had been there for a while already, effectively keeping Penny from calling Tracey to check in and to fill her in on the changes that needed to be made. The knock on the door, signaling the arrival of their food, was a welcome disruption.
“I’ll get it,” she declared, and managed to get – relatively smoothly – up from the sofa, discreetly grabbing her phone as she did. Quickly she dialed her assistant’s number, and began making sure that everything on today’s agenda had been seen to. With the phone trapped between her shoulder and ear, she thanked and paid the delivery wizard, and closed the door.
“Also, Tracey,” she said as she began her journey back to the living room. “I need you to get rates and quotes from the Puyuhuapi Lodge. It could make an interesting place for the upcoming retreat.”
