Domenic set his coffee down beside him and rubbed his hands together. It was the hardest decision he'd ever had to make - but he made it for Luna's benefit, absolutely. He couldn't be a source of guilt for her while she tried to make a place for herself in this world.
"I do still love you, very much. And that's why we need to be on our own." It may have been a bit more than blunt, but he'd said it with a kind smile on his face and every good intention shining through. "You have so much going for you, and you're working very hard to find where you'll be happiest in your life, your work, this world. I don't want to get in your way, I want you to succeed without any regrets or guilt." He adored her and he always believed in that old saying 'if you love someone, set them free'.
Dom heaved a heavy sigh and watched Luna, hoping that she understood where he was coming from, that it wasn't anything she had done and that he only wanted the absolute best for her. "I'll always be around if you need me though. I hope you know that...and that if after you've found everything that makes you happy, you might think about picking up where we left off?"
