Luna had agreed to meet at Dom’s before they would head off for their trip. It was a couple weekends just before the school was due to open again, and while she was nervous she wasn’t nearly as nervous as she had been just a few months previously when she had been opening the school for the first time and took a trip the weekend before. Her nerves had gotten the better of her then, she had skipped town with Ginny for a weekend and spent it lying by the beach and drinking more than she thought she had ever. It had been a fantastic vacation away, just right after all of the schooling and things she had been doing. She needed that chance to blow off steam.

Now she was going away with Dom just before she was to open the school full time and she was nervous, she was looking forward to blowing off steam while she got lost in nature with him. She had found the perfect spot that was even close enough that the new couple could apparate there from his orchard. It had taken the couple a couple of hours to find the exact spot she had in mind, it was nestled into a little cove where there was a small waterfall and a cliff not too far that she could set up her telescope to peer at the stars later that night. Her father had taken her there as a child a few times and she was excited to share this spot with someone other than Ginny.

As the pair arrived at the open area where she wanted to set up the tents, she had her hands on the straps of her pack that she had on her back. She had been sure to pack everything she thought they might need from her tent all the way to a few extra changes of clothes just in case. Luna turned on the spot she stood to look at Dom with that bright smile. “Do you want to help me erect the tent? I brought the newer one, it takes two people to assemble.” Usually on an expedition she had a partner to help, it was why she had brought that tent today. She had wanted him to help.

Dom had really been looking forward to this camping trip with Luna for a long time. He knew what kind of pressure she’d been under, and then having to be there for one of her closest friends during a time of struggle - Domenic saw it taking it’s toll on his gentle girlfriend.

When she’d suggested this place, he had wholeheartedly agreed to it. If it was somewhere cherished for her, Domenic wanted to be there. It had been perfect weather too and he had brought plenty of food and supplies for them as well.

He was just setting down his pack, that had been extended by a charm to fit a great many things that they would need when Luna had asked for help with the tent. “Of course. Which side would you like me to take?” Figuring if he took one side and she took the other, the tent would be up in no time and they could start having a good time on their trip.

Luna grinned when he said that he would, she moved then to drop her own pack at her feet. Instead of digging through it with her hands, which she knew would just end with her emptying her entire home on to the ground in front of them, she pulled her wand from where it had been tucked behind her ear. She started then waving her wand, using her silent spells to go about pulling the tent from the pack but leaving everything else still inside the expandable bag that held far too much for one little backpack of Luna’s.

In minutes she had it out on the ground where she was hoping to put the tent, it was then that she motioned to Dom. “Do you want to take that side and I can take this one?” She was pointing to the side closest to her. “It should be easy, I think when I put it away after the expedition I did it correctly..” Or so she had hoped, she had been smuggling creatures back into London though, at least one creature, so she had been more concerned with that when they had been headed home.

With another wave of her wand, and help from Dom and his, they were able to get her tent up and secured in moments. Luna stood just outside the opening, smiling proudly at her tent with her hands on her hips. She was just taking it all in, the view, the tent, all of it. She felt a weight lift then, she hadn’t been stressed per say about Ginny but she had been worried about her friend. She worried about Ginny being okay, what this might mean for Ginny’s new relationship, and really worries that she knew she had to let Ginny handle herself. It had however made the blonde think about children and if she wanted them anytime soon herself.

The only conclusion she had come to was to have Dora check her charms were still in place, she didn’t want an accidental pregnancy. She knew she wouldn’t be as strong as Ginny, she would go through with the pregnancy and be miserable that she had ruined all of the plans she had laid out for herself. She knew it was ridiculous to think about, she didn’t dream that Dom would be the sort that would leave her if she did get pregnant, but it was something she knew she was definitely not ready for yet. As much as she loved children and wanted some of her own, the entire situation had made her look at it all a bit more closely.

“We did pretty good.” Luna called out, unsure of where Dom was in relation to where she was standing at the entrance. “I can make dinner as a thank you for your help, I brought everything we’ll need to have breakfast for dinner.” One of her absolute favorites.

It was easy enough to help Luna pitch the tent and provide her with some much needed downtime. The location she’d chosen really was a good one and all he really wanted to do was spend some time with her before school began and she’d be very busy.

“I think we did pretty well too. Wasn’t that hard.” Dom hoped his nervousness didn’t show. He did have a gift for Luna and it may come off as something else. But he couldn’t help it - the ring he found was just so ‘her’ but she and others might see it as an engagement ring. So that’s where the nerves came from.

“Hmmm? Oh, great. That sounds fantastic … just, come here for a minute.” With a large smirk on his handsome face, he pulled Luna’s hand gently and brought her into his arms. “I’m glad we’re here. I have a present for you.”

Luna laughed at Dom’s distracted that's great, smiling more as she moved so that she could cuddle into his embrace. Her arms slipped around him in a hug. A contented little noise left her, the comfort was welcomed. While Ginny did cuddle her and give Luna comfort when it was needed, Luna had been trying to be there for her friend. That had meant keeping herself together with everything, at least until Ginny wasn't around.

His words had her interest perked, he had gotten her something? “No one ever gets me anything,” came out before she could stop herself. She flushed with a blush, laughing nervously. “Sorry, I mean they do but it's usually my birthday or a holiday.” She shook her head at herself, laughing nervously again. “You didn't have to though, really.” She reassured him, stealing a quick kiss.

Domenic had enveloped Luna in his arms and let her cuddle for a short while, enjoying her presence out in such a nice campground. He was a very tall man and Luna fit into him nicely, being tall herself. He had the distinct feeling that she needed a little extra care being on this trip too what with being there for her friend for quite a long time.

“Well, that’s going to change. It has to.” Dom found that hard to believe. “You’ve been dating the wrong men then if they don’t surprise you with something every once in awhile.” Dom didn’t really know about Luna’s past and he may get jealous and keep it to himself, but he preferred to be in the dark on some things. “I had seen this in a shop and thought of you immediately. It’s only something small and I picked it up because…” Domenic got quiet and gave her a small box with a daisy themed ring inside. “...while this isn’t a ‘ring’ in the traditional sense, we’ve only been dating for a short time, I picked this up for you because I do love you.” Dom swallowed and gave a sheepish grin through his beard, knowing that he was never very good at being emotional.

“I haven’t dated many men,” She clarified, she didn’t think things with Michael counted. They had both had a lot going on, Luna with starting the school and Michael with his gadgets. Now it seemed as though she may have been falling into the same habit, working far too much with her school and Dom managing the farm. She supposed she had a type. She hoped she wouldn’t let work kill this relationship too, she had promised herself that she would sort her head out just the day before.

Her cheeks flamed at the admission, she hated admitting that she didn’t have much experience with all of this. She knew it likely showed, she had just figured there wasn’t a thing she could do about it. Then he was mentioning how he had seen something in a shop for her, sky blue eyes going wide as she looked up at him. He had been thinking of her? It warmed her to think of him doing his rounds at Victory Road, leaving one of the pubs and seeing something in the window that reminded him of her.

She took the small box, smiling dreamily as she flipped it open to see the gorgeous daisy ring inside. Then he started to explain and when he said he loved her, she felt her stomach drop. She had been thinking about this too all night, did she love Dom? Could she love Dom? She still didn’t have an answer, she had stayed up half the night cuddling with Sunny debating that. Her heart was racing though, her eyes meeting his. She really liked him, she knew that much. She needed more time, how did she explain that?

“I really like you, Dom.” She said in a soft voice, she couldn’t spill Ginny’s secret but she knew she had to explain where her own head was. “I’ve been thinking a lot about that, I don’t think I know just yet..” Her cheeks felt as if they were on fire then, “Please don’t be upset or mad?” She didn’t want this to break them up, she didn’t want to hurt him. She knew she hadn’t explained herself very well at all and she was still struggling to find the words. She did at least realize telling him how much she loved the ring might be in poor taste, since she hadn't just said it back to him.
