This entire thing had started as a vacation with friends and family, well more family and his families friends. Then at some point it had turned into someone’s wedding and it just so happened that his boss was the one who was going to make the cake. The wizarding world wasn’t nearly as big as everyone thought, it was actually extremely small. Not only was his boss making the cake because she was the best around but also because she was friends with the couple, it was a small world.
Tate had been checking out the kitchen with Melinda, drooling over some of the higher end things he hadn’t seen since his first year working in France. He had to admit, he wanted a few hours alone in that kitchen to do terrible things to do it. He was still wondering if he could get away with talking someone in the hotel into letting him cook a big meal for the entire group one night, no he wasn’t terribly close with anyone outside of his step-mother but he was sure no one would complain about good food. He was certain the hotel however had rules against this sort of thing.
Going back to his room to just seemed like a crime, it was still early and he wanted to see what Aruba had to offer. Emilia was at her brother’s wedding, he wondered if she had made any friends. He knew she wouldn’t mind if he went about making his own friends while he was out here with his step-mother and her friends. Though he was sure there was some rule against getting to know your step-mother’s friends. He tried not to think too much about it.
As he rounded the corner to head towards the exit that would lead to the beach he saw Cooper seated in the lobby. He was talking to someone seated in a chair that had the back to Tate, so he couldn’t see them. The back of the chair was high enough that he couldn’t see if it was a man or woman from behind, all he could see was chair. He came up to Coop though, nodding his head and grinning at the other man. He was the one to be married soon. “Hey, Melinda and I finished drooling over that kitchen. It’ll definitely work. If you think you could work some charm on the management though, I’d love to make everyone a big meal. Maybe the meal for the rehearsal? Are you doing on?” Tate hadn’t even glanced at the chair until after he had asked all of questions of the groom, grey eyes shifted to glance at the chair and they grew wider. “Emilia?” Was asked through a ridiculously large lopsided smile.
