MM to Hannah 5:36 pm: Meet me on the roof of the Leaky? I have a surprise for you.
Ernie truly wasn't the best at gifts or surprises, but he tried to go out for Hannah's birthday. After obtaining permission to make the changes to the Leaky's rooftop like he wanted, Ernie spent the next several weeks importing plants, with a heavy focus on the last several days, settling up walls, the appropriate roofing and all other equipment. Hannah was under the impression he had been at work for all this time, but Ollivander had allowed him the time off to set up his final surprise.
Once finished, he set up a small dinner right in the middle, sitting down and waiting patiently for her to make her way through her rooftop garden to eventually find him.
